Every other Saturday over 51k fans try and get out of SJP at the same time and trundle off in mostly the same direction. Once you get to the Sandman or where Barker & Stonehouse was you have comfortable space.

Saturday was nowt like that, granted the crowd weren’t moving (albeit that daft git is suggesting folk just followed the bus). I don’t know what the true figure was but, looking at the crowd depth, vantage points & generally how busy transport & town was it was a lot. Getting into town I heard loads of folk talking to others on phones who had just given up trying to get in. Trains were leaving 100s on platforms & plenty Metros were missing stops out.

I’ve spoken to fans who had to wait 2-3 hours to get a Metro home on Saturday. Normally come 1 hour after FT you are able to just walk on a Metro with plenty of space.

I mean between the likes of the club who handed out tickets to the event, Newcastle Council via parking charges and vehicle traffic statistics, Nexus via bus and Metro fares, Network rail via passenger numbers (trains from Ashington were missing stations on the line hours ahead of the event), and Northumbria Police due to safety reasons, you would have thought 1 of them would have contradicted the 300k figure they have put out if it was only 50k.

I don’t really care personally how many were there (it was a great day especially for people who weren’t at Wembley and kids, grannies etc) but what motivation would the police have in overstating the estimated attendance.

anyway I’m delving into sounding like I’m caring.

can’t wait till the next one if that turnout was for a “mickey mouse” trophy wait till we win the league or a European cup :) and the club put someone worth watching on the Moor stage… and the weather is nice 🤣

I wish there was fewer there as getting the bus back was a nightmare.

Is this him?

That's him. He made up a whole load of tosh about how they play in red and white because of Sunderland. It is actually because of Southampton and Bilbao even confirmed this but he knarrs different cos his Granda was there hew.

Hahhahaha that's mint.  Genuinely believed there was some Mackey associating with it due to the lies they continually peddle.  Turns out, absolute BS, like most of what they spout.

Anything to make themselves feel a bit better about being utterly irrelevant, despite it being nonsense.

To be fair, it should be fairly quiet when the second half has only just kicked off...

What a sad case that bloke is, the club rep was clearly just being polite in his response until he fucked off! Just as our staff would be if a fan of some third-rate no-mark club from El Campionishipo started mouthing off during a stadium tour. Pat on the head, "absolutely sir, I'll get right to it"

1 hour later: "What was the name of that mentalist's team again? Ah who gives a shit"

Edit - just beat me to it!
