Any idea roughly how many tickets were available?

Last season the gen sale was about 500 i think, and if you were in the top 1k in queue you had a chance. Maybe something similar?

Thankfully i nabbed a barracks ticket for the villa game last week.

Did you get Barracks just through normal sale? Seems to be sold out for every game this season.

Also the pricing, quite frankly, was disgusting for the friendlies. Understand there was 'other games' but let's be fair most couldn't give a shit. The club should use friendlies (and early cup games) as a way to encourage families. Dads taking their kids for the first time etc. Not as a money making exercise. The attendances showed that tbh.

I feel almost guilty having a pop at ownership as I very much doubt they were directly involved in these decisions, but they need to be very careful going forwards. I guess football is all about ££ these days, but we're a working class city full of people on the bones of their arse at the minute. Knowing your audience is important here.

When the takeover happened, one of the main consequences was a more aggressive commercial strategy. The sponsorships are all part of that but the revenue from SJP was very poor compared to what it could be. I hope they are trying to balance your concerns with the objective of driving revenue from all sources. Its all part of the mix and is both a positive and negative of the takeover by ambitious owners. The push for international customers in hospitality seems to be a good way of balancing this but i dont think there are straightforward options for the financial / commercial team. I thought 7.50 per game for kids last sunday wasnt that bad.

Interesting that today there was more people in the queue for <1000 tickets than at any time last season with the original queuing system.

Perhaps logic shows that plenty of people can join a queue at 10am. If we are to ballot surely the ballot should be after a queuing system? Today was just madness.

Aye, oddly enough both in the same area of the Leazes for me and my cousin. Like five rows apart. Just by sheer chance mind.

It went on sale Tuesday last week on the hospitality section, don't think you even need to be a member.

Was some left for the Luton game when i looked yesterday.

So if you can sit on the website refreshing at least you have some chance, still a shite system though.

The more I see and hear of this the more it becomes evident that this is a totally ill thought out shambles.

When demand completely outstrips supply it's imperative that some sort of loyalty scheme is put in place so that those who have supported the club through thick and thin, whether that be through buying season tickets, memberships or just buying tickets for matches through public sale are looked after in some sort of way, certainly not lumped in with someone who just fancies a one off game because we're now good, or dare I say it an away fan chancing his luck by buying a membership because let's face it, we all now have the same chance.

The annoying thing is that it would have been easy to do. Our loyalty or purchase history can be traced back decades or to when we first registered and were allocated a supporter number. Some of these folk on 150+ points have their purchase history included all the way back to the mid 1990s so it's all there.

For me it should have started on a tiered membership like they do at the other top clubs in England where demand massively outstrips supply. When we applied for our memberships for this season our purchase history should have been looked at and just using a simple example you could have been put in a certain loyalty band, maybe Platinum, Gold, Silver, bronze, depending on your past purchase history with the club then allocate a certain % of tickets on sale to Platinum members, a smaller % to silver etc, etc.

At least it rewards past loyalty in some sort of way instead of what we currently have which isn't really much use to anyone. Really hope that this is something the club look at going forward because eventually loyalty, match going fans of many years who are used to going along to support the team will become disillusioned into being forced to become armchair fans and will ultimately walk away.
