According to the Box Office there were flags on my account for apparent ticket touting and multiple browser use, which blocked me being able to access and buy.

Fellow queue/resale/multi-browser nonces - if you can't buy that might be why. Just had a big lecture from the Box Office about account sharing blah blah blah, "if it happens again you'll be blocked permanently" etc... I also suspect just using a VPN for security will make me look dodgy as it keeps changing the IP address.

Although I got that after they tried to fob me off with something about my membership.

If they're tracking that stuff now, the resale strategy may need a rethink, but positive if they're dealing with bots/actual touts I guess.

EDIT: They've unlocked it to let me buy, and then blocked me again after the purchase. Absolutely useless.

Account sharing?

Yeah, I was asked do multiple people have my password to log-in. Then after saying "no," "make sure you don't because your account will be flagged, we'll think you're a tout or a bot."

Person put me on hold a handful of times to speak to some support desk, so basically didn't have a clue and is just getting the information second hand, multiple flags on my account apparently.

They need a better system then. You could be using multiple devices, across multiple locations, perfectly legitimately.

They'll be using some automated way to detect that stuff and then it'll be flagged.

If you're using a VPN for it, it's an immediate red flag and easily detected by bot systems.

That's easily sorted though, still use multiple browser but make sure you aren't logged on first

Only logon when you get onto the site 👍

That won't work unless you've got every bit of tracking turned off, it carries a session onto the website so the whole journey is tracked etc.

Yeh, and each browser has a different session id so still can't see how they'd know

Especially if you have multiple ip by using multiple phones

Would you not then just the the old "queue for the site - log in - join the next queue for tickets" trick?

The theory is sound though - might be in trouble if they've legit added the restriction for me again though!

FWIW I don’t see how just using multiple browsers can be restricted unless they have evidence you’re selling the tickets on. It’s like saying people can’t queue overnight for Wimbledon or they can’t turn up early for the Black Friday sales. You’re just using whatever means you have to give yourself a better chance of getting the tickets you want.

Do something so people can’t resell the tickets.

Mine was also showing "restricted" but random refresh and I can now but tickets 🤷

Interesting, I can now buy more too 🤣

They've just given me a total load of shit and wasted my time (and subsequent energy thinking of workarounds) haven't they?! Or realised their system is way too sensitive after being deluged by phone calls.

England v Wales tickets for October on sale in an hour and the Wembley ticket system is somehow even worse than ours. Joy 🤦

Can buy Sela tickets too, maybe they opened it to anyone. Never made sense to sell it to members of when memberships aren’t on sale.

My initial thought earlier was that they opened it for ST holders and didn't include members.

What a shambles man, not like it's difficult tech or logic to code and make work*.

*Disclaimer: I'm always asking developers for stuff that sounds/should be simple before getting 101 reasons why it isn't

Any truth behind the rumours that the admins passed over the email addresses of those on here who have been most vocal against the membership, with the club then tying the email addresses to membership accounts and accordingly punishing them?

Yeah they did that last year, the year before, those who were whinging about ballot success rates, and they aligned it with those actively responsible for the Ashley Out and Pardew Out campaigns too.  Hence why some of us are essentially blacklisted from ballots.
