The only reason I can see why chelsea have bought Pedro must be incase Palmer has a piss poor season again so they have a replacement.

So in the end we didn’t even offer 55m+5m for Pedro after negotiated for nearly a month, a player that we regarded as a major target this summer

Maybe we have other targets who we could offer 60m for that we feel are better? He could have been the opportunistic option.

 

The last time we bid for him we went and bought Isak days later.
