Anthony Gordon (now playing for FC Barcelona)

Recommended Posts

Bayern fans I‘ve been talking to this week think he is some kind of super fast dribbler that is going to provide top service for Harry. And while I first thought they might be delusional, he could actually become that player with

- fewer games to play

- more rotation

- a midfield that is packed with quality

- a clinical striker

- a no nonsense coach and club

- a subsequent boost in self-confidence (which he arguably has enough of)

His stats could totally shadow what he has done here, without him really becoming a better player.

He’ll probably do well at Bayern tbf, but that’s partly because it’s a dead league. When Bayern win this season it’ll be 13 out of the last 14 for them.

He doesn't get enough abuse

In fairness Sven Botman did the same, and his performances have been worse than Gordon's

Bayern would be the perfect destination for him, I doubt he'd start ahead of Olise and Diaz but he'd get plenty of minutes there. He'll earn a fuck ton, Bundesliga defending is notoriously shite so he'll be able to make an impressive highlights reel skinning mickey mouse full backs, will always be surrounded by elite talent, guaranteed CL football every year and all but guaranteed to win the league.

I don't care what he's says about his game developing beyond the pressing, chasing style he had when he started here, that was him at his best for us, he's now either a below average striker or an average winger, he's not a good finisher and not particularly great at getting the ball in the box, the guy well and truly thinks he's something special, Gordon plays for Gordon and I wouldn't bat an eye if he goes provided we get a good fee of 70 mil plus.

I think he’s vital to our play in the way Bellamy used to be and we will miss him. Hes miles better than Barnes Elanga or Murphy etc

we get worse if we lose him

We're 14th in the league and we've lost 14 games this season, personally I'm happy to roll the dice on someone else if he goes.

Could be a real asset to Bayern but Diaz  is going to take some shifting from that wide left berth. Still an attractive looking proposition for him you'd think

We’ve also won a trophy and had 2 of our best seasons with him in your lifetime.

As with any player it depends on how he’s replaced. I don’t think he’s quite as integral as Bellamy was and we need to reassess how we play anyway seeing as it’s become predictable and dysfunctional.

I don’t mind if Gordon goes specifically, but potentially needing to buy a whole new front 3 in one summer isn’t easy.

And he’s the best attacker we have, despite not being world class.

The fact the vast majority of our support don't seem remotely bothered he wants to leave tells its own story about how average he has been for a long time now. Total opposite to last year when everyone was absolutely gutted Isak wanted to go.

One of those where it isn’t even worth the effort of any type of emotion other than complete indifference - I’m not even all that sure he’s any better today than the player we signed from Everton.  Watching his obvious dummy-spit because Howe has working eyes and won’t play him as a CF was the writing on the wall - the lad is delusional about his own qualities tbh; a player who’s lack of technical gifts were previously covered over by a supreme workrate; a workrate which disappeared about 18 months ago.  Happily, Tuchel’s utterly bizarre selections mean he’s still an England international which pushes the value up nicely.  Would be good if we could sell him abroad too, so that his two league goals per calendar aren’t (inevitably) against us.

He's not that player anymore though, he's been phoning it in for over a year now. He thinks he's too good to be here and that shows in his effort levels on the pitch, Gordon plays for Gordon only.

Haven't got the time of day for him, or anyone else, who picks and chooses when he wants to try and when he decides to go through the motions. His output has been patchy at best and his contributions to the team seem to depend on if he fancies it or the size of the game he's in. Comes across as a bit of an arsehole in general (doesn't mean he actually is though) and I've never really warmed to him despite him playing really really well a few years ago. He's got that edge and arrogance to him that I don't particularly like, he's a legend in his own lunchtime  - nothing to do with his hair, the city he was born in or the clothes he wears, none of that is important. He doesn't want to be here so he can fuck clean off and be a edgy cunt for a different set of fans

Explain how he is a cunt?

Wouldn’t shake the managers hand coming off after he’d been here for about a month, not tried a leg for months and has been talk about him wanting away for most of that time.
