Apologies mate. It’s just when you say stuff like the club has “failed” to grow commercially and you “can’t tell” whether we’re making up ground when it appears you haven’t even looked at the data I get a bit irritated. Will try to be more patient going forward.

That’s why I clarified my use of the word. I should have used a different one. I blame the laws on this, not the club.

Well. Why would they buy us in the first place? I don't think it was to make money.

These tightened regulations weren't in place when they bought us.

Yeah, so in that case they initially wanted to spend a lot of money on us to reach the top, right? I thought your initial argument was that getting us to the top would be expensive, and question whether they wanted to spend that much on us. I said that I don't think they're too worried about the expence, and that it's more about not being allowed to spend. Is the argument that it's now more expensive to get us to the top with the new regulations in place, and that this might be too much for them to bother?

Nah, more that they haven’t been allowed to spend on the team as much as they expected to potentially juice us to hit the Champions League/Europe on the regular earlier.

I know we were in the CL last season but we didn’t solidify our position in Europe last year.

That’s the #1 way to get us to be sustainable on our own, closing the revenue gap which in turn reduces the money to be put in on improving infrastructure.

Interesting read. Need to do your usual hack for paywall or have a subscription to read. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2025/01/23/man-utd-psr-breach-ticket-prices/

If these levels of losses are remotely true, how the hell have they escaped from being done for PSR this month -must be one hell of a covid allowance they've got this year!

We didn’t solidify because we were already over the limit…
