Thought the corner sounded very loud today from where I was sat up in Level 7. Atmosphere was reasonable today. Should have been better given the result, the type of game it was, and the opposition but it is what it is.

Loads around me today just didn't appear interested at all. I just can't understand how you can go to the match, to watch the team you support, and show such little emotion. Gallowgate is shite other than the corner and the Leazes End must be the worst behind the goal stand in the league for noise.

Team played really well and the way the game went should have seen a better atmosphere.

I was in the East Stand near the SC and the atmosphere was excellent - rarely was there no singing. Surprised how many old boys around me were joining in

It’s fine to be happy with events on the pitch but also to be concerned about the state of the atmosphere. All my best memories of SJP have been where the atmosphere is raucous, it’s a big part of the match day experience and the place is depressing as fuck these days off the pitch.

The club is in great health in most areas, I’d argue even better than Hall’s era, however it won’t be a new stadium that kills the soul of the club, it will be losing the passion associated with the fanbase, it’s not just our club, but action is needed to protect the atmosphere with extended safe standing at the very least to liven the place up.

The stadium is an issue in my opinion. it's a depressing place to be with poor food options and a lack of drink options. It really is only about the football and there is no pre match atmosphere in the concourse as most people arent there

I think if fans were excited to enter the stadium and spent more time in there it automatically leads to a better feeling around, more chants and more atmosphere building. Right now it's still not an option to go in an hour early. You have to go out beforehand, rush over to the stadium and then the fight to the seats.

Hopefully with a better pre-match in stadium experience this would improve automatically.

Been to a couple of matches over the holidays that have really showed how much our atmosphere is lacking these days.

Went to PSV v Feyenoord last weekend which was excellent as you'd expect and I've already spoken about PSV on here before but did Dundee Utd v Aberdeen yesterday which surprised me in a good way.

Aberdeen had 3.5k there (in a 13.5k) crowd and their away support was brilliant, far better than anything we see in the away end at SJP, although a few of them didn't cover themselves in glory by lobbing several missiles at the Dundee Utd manager, including a vodka bottle, but the home fans were excellent too.

It's all seater, with no safe standing, but every fan behind both goals stood for the entirety, as did the away fans along a full side of the pitch, and even though we were along the side we were constantly in and out of our seats when the home team were attacking as people were genuinely getting themselves really excited. I reckon of the 13.5k fans there well over 50% stood the full game and it does make a big difference. Didn't see a single person playing on their phone either like I often see at SJP.

Both teams clearly have Ultra style groups attached to them, and whilst I'm not a massive fan of this it constantly kept the noise going even in lulls in the game.

Finally another thing that gets mentioned is the age profile of the crowd at SJP. I reckon at Tannadice yesterday the average age of supporter was around 20 years younger than at Newcastle. At 46 I always feel Newcastle I'm still in the younger age range when I look around me but yesterday I was definitely in the older category.

Was talking to a home fan in the pub pre match yesterday and he was saying there's more and more youngsters watching football in Scotland these days, and generally at the lesser fashionable clubs where tickets are more easily available. Mentioned Dunfermline where it's really taken off in a big way. Was good to experience that yesterday anyway.

The beauty of Scottish football is the lack of crowds outside of rangers and Celtic allows fans to sit together with ease.

I've been to Aberdeen a few times and all the youngest can stand together behind the goal.

Unless we relocate fans sadly nothing will change.

Even Rangers and Celtic have moved fans to get like-minded supporters grouped together. Just at the start of the season Rangers moved long term season ticket holders from there seats in the Copland Stand to make room for the Union Blues supporters group. The old family stand is now the singing end at Aberdeen and they moved the families to the Upper tier of the stand behind the opposite goal.

I think sometimes you've got to risk upsetting some fans for the greater good. Certainly those stadiums I've mentioned have seen a big upturn in atmosphere from a few years ago, especially Aberdeen.

Thought the away end was shite yesterday.

Didn’t know where else to post this but my mate’s ticket went red when scanning in (about 5 mins before kick off) and he had to go to the ticket office. Because they didn’t have an away ticket printer he missed more than 15 minutes of the game. it’s an absolute joke that these checks were brought in and the trust, and FAB need to use any influence they have to sort it out.

Just seen the below on Twitter:

Disgusting and sums up the attitude of some of these club staff in the ticket department, treat fans like dirt when they’ve spent money on travel etc.

Worth reminding folk that where the only club who carry out these checks without any prior warning, I’m sure legally there might be grounds for taking the club to court on this, in what world are you sold a ticket knowingly that is not going to work.

It’s a fucking disgrace. The fact that my pal travelled down and got there just before kick off purely because of our train being cancelled and subsequently having to get a later one, for him then to be forced to wait whilst they fuck about trying to sort it out.

Further to that, the spurs steward did not have a clue what to do - if he wasn’t aware of the process with your ticket going red, then it would have caused further delay.

It’s a complete shambles.

Absolute pisstake that people have been up since 2am, travelled the length of the Country, only to miss the first 15 mins of the match due to this ridiculous ticketing policy. This is the sort of thing that NUST should be all over but as they championed this ticket check farce I imagine they'll stay quiet on this one.

Aye NUST and this fan advisory board are fucking shite, NUSC seem to be the only lot trying to represent the ordinary match going fan, but as there not a democratically voted organisation the club won’t listen to them.

They’ve been doing it at home games as well with those who have a physical plastic ST. Know someone who has one, ticket showed red and they were asked for ID.

Guess they are going after touts with physical tickets for home games. The away ticket check is set up to strip supporters of points where points are being harvested. I’m not particularly against that but how it’s being done doesn’t sit right.

NUSC are spot on tbf. They've even liased with LNER to run an extra service to get fans back from Arsenal next week. Arranged fan events at European aways, and things like the boats for London aways and they always respond to queries on Social media.

Unfortunately they don't have a voice at the club which is a shame as they are a far better group to represent the supporters that the trust are.

TBF Spurs at new ground always shite atmosphere, speaking tol lads I know who follow West Ham And Man Utd and they agree it's always shite

This whole ticketing thing is getting out of hand man...Arsenal Spurs Man utd can just transfer home and away games but we policing it daft.

What do the Trust actually do? They should be pushing this and Atmosphere but they all just want to get their face over the internet.

Another thing the trust should be doing, pushing seat reallocation.. honestly they haven't a clue.

What do the trust do? I would be interested to know also. They have a big vote every year but never seem to do anything of any note. Maybe I’m being unfair. I certainly don’t have anything against them now Hurst and co aren’t involved, who I hold accountable for these ridiculous ticketing policies.

When NUSC was set up, I and others on here (IIRC) were questioning what the point of it was. However, as mentioned previously, they look out for the match going fan and liaising with LNER for Tuesday is a sign of their good work.

I would love to see some of the NUSC lot and some top lads and lasses who post on here involved in the Trust and model it more to the match going fan.

Not dissing NUSC but they do have a habit of taking credit for and making noise about very little on occasions. It was LNER who put on the extra train and NUSC secured the grand total of zero tickets for its “paying” members. They also booked a boat trip pre Brentford which left a mad dash to make it for KO with their supporting advice being “get a taxi”. Their European endeavours have been good especially Dortmund.

NUST i feel has been very good this last 12 months with daily and informative updates via their WhatsApp group. A massive improvement when before it was it seemed an extension of True Faith with the makeup of it board then. Costing me literally nothing (£10 for lifetime membership which I’ve had several years now.

Some of the comments about them are sadly very ignorant. Especially the they should do this or that when it seems no time has been taken to find out if they have already or the effort to become a member and request them to as they are after all a conduit to our needs only. Not some professional governing body despite having to be legally formed and ran correctly.

Wasn’t aware of that from NUSC, interesting.

Also have to credit NUST for their response to the ticketing issues you assisted me with earlier in the week. Appreciated that.

Absolute disgrace the checks.

I’ve said from when it was announced that surely it is illegal. In what sort of world does a company sell you fake tickets?

Whats ultimately disgraceful about them? If ultimately it leads to those who’ve bought them are those that go and stops touting.

The premise of it is fine. But the way they’re currently implementing it leads to instances like has been highlighted here.

There has to be a better way. I don’t know what that better way is, but there has to be one. Surely.

The issues I’ve heard trotted out surely now covered with the 2 match exchange per season they’ve introduced recently.
