NUFC Transfer Rumours

Recommended Posts

If we are going to sell Lascelles to rake back some transfer cash fair enough, but he's 29 so still has plenty to offer as he's shown again this season. I'm surprised there hasn't been more interest given his age. I think we have worse players in the squad but they just won't fetch any fees and they are taking up squad space on account of being cheap to keep hanging around even if they are mostly useless on the actual playing field these days.

 did we remove 'NUFC transfer' from the thread title all of a sudden?

Wasn’t it @LFEE

Don’t adore him but think he’s underrated and would’ve been a good fit to our squad for this season with the extra games as felt we were going into the season one light in midfield along with a young centre forward to blood.

Started with me thinking he was as good as pound for pound player in comparison to the Serbian lad who played for Lazio (Fee/Wage demands) who I didn’t think we could afford due to wage structure despite being told different and who is now playing his peak years out in Saudi Arabia earning a pittance I’m sure…

You are talking this and that and you’re very far from the simple point I’m making and you just don’t seem to get it, or refuse to see it.  Let’s just leave it at that

You've jumped in and played mediator, that's all good, I do get what you're saying.

You don't get what I'm aiming at though, yes have an opinion, but don't regularly drive conjecture!

and there's a few posters that love it.

Research all you like, and share what you discover, but fuck off doing your conjecture posts on every bloody player.

Not you of course [emoji38]

But hopefully we both understand each other now.

Does FFP affect London clubs. Just wondering.

Is it a North East tax or something?

Not when they get free stadiums. Though this isn't an unfair advantage, no.

They sold rice, FFP won’t be a thing for them for 2 more years.

Rice

City are just playing the waiting game to see if anyone will panic and pay their ridiculous loan demands. All these links are just part of that. Think Phillips won’t move until end of the window.

Unfortunately I think if West Ham want him, they will get him. They can afford (fuck this perverse world) much more than us at present.

Yeah I’m just saying that I think all clubs, West Ham included have baulked at the City’s loan demands (rumoured 7m loan fee for 4 months is insane). Don’t think West Ham will pay it just because they can.

Ah yes, West Ham, the club that once finished 6th amongst a litany of middle of the road "nothing" seasons.

They’ve finished top half more than we have in the last decade tbf, won a major trophy last season after reaching the UEFA Cup SF the year before, and are a London club with an average gate 10k above ours.

Not sure we can thumb our noses at them just yet.

The stadium shit still really fucks me off, getting a nice big windfall off selling Upton Park and that

I’d love for us to win it, but the conference league isn’t a major trophy imo.

Likewise.  Man City’s still does two decades later.  Tax-payer funded freebie

At least City spend a fortune on the area though, plus two i think expansions

That wasn’t on the cards when they were given the ground - and the improvements were still less than the cost of a new stadium.

It definitely is for me - any of UEFA’s main tournaments are.

It would trump a League Cup

I’d disagree, it’s much harder to win the league cup imo.

Obviously, never said otherwise. Just saying at least they did something. For what its worth Sport England paid £77m of the £119m cost so still not in the same league as West Hams £537m freebie
