NUFC Transfer Rumours

Not sure why anyone needs this spelt out but dumb point one is answered by dumb point two. Except your net spend is bollocks as the incomings arent counted this summer as they were in last season.

So you are disputing that as things stand today, this summer's transfer dealing is not showing position of around zero net spend? So what's your figure then.

It's been about £65m in and out.

Arguably Brighton & West Ham have strengthened and kept their best players. Every one of the top 6 have strengthened.

the frustration comes from fact the club have failed to strengthen where they wanted to.

And the counter point is if West Ham or Brighton had Bruno or Isak they would have sold them last summer, let alone this summer. Retaining players like these two for another year cannot be overlooked.

It does feel a little bit like this could be the last season before a reset of sorts.

I said the same about this summer but it feels quite possible that we make a big sale next summer, in that £80m-£120m range. You've got the likes of Trippier, Burn & Schar comfortably past 30. Others with contracts expiring.

If we did have £60-70m to spend in this window, are we thinking if we can't get our top targets now, let's just add it to the budget for the following summer?

Someone mentioned earlier on here that the PSR rules next summer might not even be the same. Who knows where that'll leave our banked 60mill if we don't spend it this summer.

I don’t think we have £60m to spend this summer - I still think that the Guehi bid would have needed clawbacks either this window or in Jan / June next year.  We haven’t sold anyone and our wages and transfer amortisation is more or less 100% of turnover.   And we’ve still done diddly squat in terms of commercials (and the commercials aren’t out there to cover a transfer of Guehi’s size in any case).

We either need to start selling some of our ‘purples’ or the board need to start getting a lot more creative in terms of income; otherwise, we’re going to be like a becalmed sailing ship for quite a while yet.

Bollocks to this. Get us to Saturday morning and let's focus on the football.

Still think we're gonna have a very, very good season.

The "we don't know" thing doesn't work both ways. ;) We believe the media when it suits the agenda we're trying to make, and if it doesn't, we say that it's fake news and that we don't know what's actually going on.

No reason we can’t - we’ve got a good squad and a good manager

Did anyone think that ?

I suspect there was a few who did - and they’re likely the angriest people in the world at the moment.

Most of the rules constraining us were already in place in 2021 - anyone who thought this was Man City MkII was living in blissful ignorance.

We would’ve sold either of them if an offer of £100m+ came in :D

how has it got to the eve of the window closing to get to that. Divert the funds to RW a week ago. Mental to end up with nothing

If true that's obviously going to be a massively disappointing window, no way of really dressing it up any other way.

On the bright side we've kept hold of our best players, have strengthened a little in defence with Kelly, and have a fantastic player in Tonali back in the side. I think we'll have a really good season still and will be well in with a shout of a top 5 finish with fewer games to play and (hopefully) fewer injuries as a result. Still feel positive.
