NUFC Transfer Rumours

Yeah that's it for me. Bruno can have a few off games but he's the cultural leader of the club. He represents the change from being a piss poor Steve Bruce side, to being a proper quality European level side.

I want him here until he's into his 30s. He's an absolute icon.

And then I want to see him in the dugout with Big Joe playing the Tindall role

I’ll be critical of Bruno when he’s poor but at this point we can’t put a value on him. He’s priceless in that he basically IS the club. Certainly now. His value is here and nowhere else.

I love how we have a number of players that "get it".  You need that in a dressing room.

Leeds after three of ours, Pope,Longstaff, Wilson,

While rumour Villa after Barnes in Swap with Ramsey.

Al-Itihad wish to sign Bruno 120m

Barnes needs to stay, the other 4 would be great to off the books (personally have no issue with Pope as thestarting keeper, and Bruno at that price w his

age is a no brainer in the FFP era)

I wouldn't sell Bruno at any price. His leadership and enthusiasm filters to the other players. Him and Tonali are the best mf duo in the league.

They're untouchable in my eyes.

If we need ffp money (which by all accounts we don't) then you get that elsewhere. Our core group needs to stay at least one more season and see what can be achieved with a few more top signings this summer.

That's sweet and sentimental but not grounded in reality

I love Bruno as much as the next man but everyone has a price, 120m (reinvested) would placate any angst from that hypothetical sale

It's hard to comment because we don't really know our financial situation heading into the summer.

If we're confident we have the money to bring in the quality & numbers we need without selling Bruno, I'd rather we didn't. If we did sell him, yes that would give us more wiggle room but then you'd have to replace an absolutely vital member of the team and our captain. Even with a substantial "war chest" who do you go for?

Is it? when a seemingly top level midfielder goes for in excess of £100m these days. Baleba for instance would cost similar to what Bruno would fetch meaning it’s potentially at best a zero sum game

Bloody phone autocorrecting Baleba

Totally disagree! Most of that would need to be spent on his replacement with no guarantee of performance on the pitch let alone off it!

I understand PSR but don't agree with the endless calls to sell several players especially someone who rarely misses a game and is one the best performers week in week out... How much would Wharton or someone similar be to replace him? Even someone from the continent (which would increase the risk)?

How do you guys think about bringing in some Man Utd players? Got to be some players there that Eddie can bring back to their best right?

Kinda hard to believe that they have just made poor transfers, a more likely explaination is that the atmosphere there is so broken that the players lose their confidence.

As mentioned there's no guarantee his replacement would hit the ground running. Even if he did we'd instantly lose the leadership and team cohesion that Bruno brings. He's our captain ffs. Would be an incredibly risky sale with not much upside.

It won’t happen!

There haven't been 5 MFs let alone players that have gone for £100m+ in the last few years

If we sell Bruno for 120 m hypothetically,  who would you go for to replace him?

Good question!

Also how much would you value the impact selling our captain and leader would have on the dressing room?

Hey Alex I know we've just punted your mate but please sign a new long term contract...

If we got that i would not use all the money on replacing him directly, but strenghten our squad in general.

Probably would accept that offer tbh, but it isnt going to happen.

Bruno, Tonali, Isak, etc. should only leave when they're over the hill, not at their peak. We wanna be fighting for the Champions League every year, and hopefully the league title soon. Keep your best players, you know? If we need to sell to make money, sell Willock, Longstaff, Targett, etc., not our best players.

Think you need to look again.

Enzo, Rice, Caicedo straight off the top of my head. The likes of Macallister only went for less due to a release clause.

I appreciate that Chelsea are the main one spending these fees but like it or not it inflates what everyone else is expecting to go for.

YES!

I am not the person suggesting selling Bruno!

I couldn't be more against that idea no matter what the price and certainly not for £120 million
