NUFC Transfer Rumours

Conveniently ignoring the £100m of sales last year I see. Most of which were pure profit sales. You're better than this fella.

We also have no idea what Mbeumo will cost, and the talk is he wants 4x his £45k wages, which is £180k. It's not much more than what you've paid Gordon, Bruno, Joelinton etc. You even gave £150k to Lloyd Kelly. People need to stop acting like these players are getting handed Casemiro contracts.

Now wait a minute Froggy, you are also better than this

"Newcastle eyebrows were raised when the forward's representatives told those who made enquiries that he wanted to more than quadruple his £45,000 per week wages at Brentford."

Cunha is something like 200 000k/week? Mbeumo will be pretty much the same of course.

There's no need to get into this again. There's enough material from respected columns for people to educate themselves on why The Glazers are much worse. I don't need to try and argue it with people who won't listen.

Much worst? As in much worse than Ashley?

Obviously fishing or you've had a lobotomy.

Mate what the Glazers have taken out of our club could have bought your club five times over. It's not a good look trying to compare the two.

But again, all the material is out there if you want educated.

Yeah I'd say it'll be £200k for Cunha and Mbuemo, and we need to stop acting like that's some massive wage these days for established Premier League stars.

I could understand if we were firing Rashford/Casemiro wages at these guys, but we're not.

What was your revenue before they took over and what is it now?

Please check what ours was prior to Ashley taking over and compare.

Sure, you can use the narrowest of metrics and try and prove your point but this is likely the only one you can find which paints the Glazers worst than Ashley and even then it's Fugazi.

We lost far more under Ashley than you have under the Glazers, let's talk about the totally flat revenue over 14 years, the unpaid sponsorship. The two relegation. John Carver.

The list is endless and you of all people should know this.

I personally fully support your presence on here but it's stuff like this why people call for you to be binned off.

200k is still a gigantic wage for any club bar three or four clubs

Most likely 200k is way more than we can afford. The thing is that it would make him Newcastle's top earner and automatically other players would be asking more. When you have Rashford and Casemiro on 300k a week, 200 isn't that bad for wage budget.

Glazer's have taken £2b out of the club mate. Your losses aren't in the same stratosphere. We could have bought your club 3 times over with the interest payments on our debt alone.

That isn't a narrow metric. The Swiss Ramble has done reports on all of this.

Not going to talk about this anymore in this thread. So if I ignore your replies in here it's because I don't want to derail the thread.

Yeah, I get that the Glazers are way worse than Ashley, but you gotta understand our point of view too. The Glazers have gotten super rich, sure, but they have shown ambition, spending crazy money on players everyone thought were amazing.

Like, I thought Antony was gonna be huge, same with Pogba and Maguire – the list goes on. Ashley, though? Zero ambition. Every time we were close to something big, he'd screw it up willingly at that.

He slowly turned our loyal fans into bitter enemies, and that's no small feat. At least the Glazers showed and still show some ambition, trying to buy top players. We finished fifth and got Anita that summer. You'll be hard-pressed to find a Newcastle fan who totally agrees, but I get what you're saying.

I think we're trying to implement a wage structure where the top players get £200k and you need to be something special to get more. Those Rashford and Casemiro contracts were huge mistakes (Sancho also). Only Bruno deserves that money.

I do think Newcastle will be forced to pay this money to players like Isak soon.

TLDR:

CB - Guehi

RW - Semenyo, Elanga, but European-based wingers have been tracked

No interest in Grealish

GK - Trafford and Garcia noted

ST - David tracked but expected to go elsewhere, Joao Pedro liked

Which is worse, Bezos losing 10billion or me losing 10k ? It's not the gross numbers it's the effect they have. How much have you spent in their time ? How many years in the champions league? How many trophies? What wages can you afford ?

It would put them squarely in the top 25 of PL wage earners - primarily a split between ESL clubs with Man City having the most.

I agree people need to stop trying to compare the two clubs.

But again, all the material is out there if you want educated.

The damage Ashley inflicted on NUFC during his 14 year tenure destroyed the enterprise value of the club to the tune of hundreds of millions, if not billions.

It is the very reason why NUFC could be bought 'five times over'.

Ashley's NUFC financial starting point was similar to that of Spurs. He then inexplicably oversaw zero growth in commercial revenues, ran the stadium and infrastructure to the ground, masterminded two relegations, appointed Joe Kinnear, and used the whole club as a vehicle to sell tat via his sports shop, paying zero in advertising.

In masterminding this shit show, one could argue that Ashley took nothing out of the club, beyond recouping loan repayments that he lent the club and the ultimate sale of the shares to PIF/Reuben brothers.

If you think this makes Ashley a good or better owner than the Glazers, who I also think are terrible owners but for different reasons, then you either do not understand football finance or are just so blinkered by the issues at MUFC that you fail to understand what is happening at other clubs.
