In goal both Pope and Dubravka have provided room for doubt while someone who could play out from the back seems like an obvious evolution. On the other hand I think it's fanciful to reckon that a new right winger would replicate Murphy's numbers or prove transformative to our play. All of our wingers get good numbers in terms of goals and assists but are lacking in the buildup, and if we're going to solve some of our creativity or ball retention issues I think you could just as well look to the midfield where we sometimes lack guile and control, with Willock and Longstaff now unreliable as backups.

 

Then again if we are talking about need rather than changes and improvements to our style of play, a backup striker is probably the biggest imperative because the fall off from Isak seems huge. Pope and Dubravka still look like Premier League players and we can rejig the squad elsewhere, but right now an injury to Isak would leave us without threat or a focal point.

 

So I reckon at least four new signings, including a new goalkeeper and centre-back then at least a couple of players who can add cover and competition at centre midfield, right wing and striker.

Selling Pope for £5m and signing Trafford for £20m on a 5 year contract probably produces a minor PSR improvement next year assuming similiar wages. Of course there’d then be a cost it later years.
 

A new contract for Pope would be the other option which is cheaper still in PSR terms.

He was really good at the start of the season. Seems PSG are willing to let him go.

His stats arent great, albeit hes not a regular starter for PSG

1500 mins is about 16 games. 6/6 GA is a decent return for that. 

 

He'd be my second favourite option.

Only on around £60,000 at PSG too.

I’d rather have Lee Kang-in than Mbeumo. Then also have a lot of money for other positions too. He’s also ridiculously tidy in possession which is an area that we need to improve in as well. Always been impressed when I’ve seen him. 
 

I’ve said it before that I don’t see Brentford selling him for 50m. By the sounds of it they want closer to 65m.

Getting Lee Kang-In for around £20 million at age 24 would be outrageous really.

 

PSG are very reasonable with the fees they ask for once someone is ready to leave due to a lack of opportunities, and mostly look to just get their money back.

 

These kinds of deals are out there, and are the sort of deals the club has to be all over.

There is nothing wrong with his ACL.

 

The reports are out there. That is what they are asking for, as he wants to leave.

 

It is what they paid to get him in the first place.

 

Go and read them for yourself. Instead of speculating on how reasonable they will not be.

What I like about Lee Kang-In is his final ball; he's more of that creative player that we've sorely lacked. Great on dead ball and great movement into half spaces.

If true I’d be more than happy with Kang in Lee as he’s different to the wide players we have, more a David Silva type from what little I’ve seen of him.

We’ve got pace and drive in the wings with Murphy, Barnes and Gordon. Players who can get a cross in (Murphy mostly, Barnes sometimes, Gordon less so). Can take long range shots (Murphy and Barnes) or cut in and curl in a shot (Gordon and Barnes). They’re all decent at varying levels running on to through balls and finishing (Barnes being the best).

 

What we don’t have is a winger who can cut in and put in a through pass to Isak, play 1-2s around the edge of the box to set someone up or get a shot off or dribble past players ( we have runners not real dribbler’s though Barnes shows flashes at times).

 

Would add a different dimension especially against teams that sit deep.
