Tonali is brilliant at them, can’t understand why he’s not given a chance so far.

Been out for a year so got to ease him back into it.

Yes for freekicks and no that doesn't make sense! 😅

We were unlucky to not get a goal or two in the first half, their keeper was excellent tbf. Just one of those days, deserved more.

< 0.70 expected goals in first half, of which 50% was Isak. Slightly unlucky, but possession dominance translated to not a huge amount, which is the main concern. Otherwise it was OK

So, sacking the manager fixes everying Mr 'Concerns'?

I’d be shocked if the club sacked him now.

I worry that he’s taken us as far as he can, and that his success from a few seasons ago was the pinnacle.

The club moving him on would be dependent on having a manager with more tactical nous available and ready, which I’m not sure is realistic right now.

So no, Gandalf, sacking the manager does not immediately fix everything. But if the club truly, genuinely want to move to the top, then I’m not sure Howe can take us much higher than he already has and a succession plan should be started.

So what you're saying is, the club may or may not do better if they sack him?

Cheers, Chris.

Bollocks!

So you're telling me the atmosphere was good and players were actually bothering to try and shoot towards the big rectangle rather than just passing and giving it away half the time?

I’m sorry that you clearly struggle with the concept of nuance, and other basic ideas.

It was shocking. Has been for a while. No idea what the answer is.

Sign players with technical quality and unpredictability would be a start. Never happen under the current setup though.

Stop it, you know I'm on the wine.

The fucking irony. 🤣

Mate, don't do it to yourself.

Get down the pub and have a bit crack with some newcastle fans. Don't waste your time in here, certainly on this topic.

Cheers for the discussion this evening anyway. Always good to see how the other half live etc.

Half? Your opinion on Howe barely represents 10% of what actual fans think.

I thought the atmosphere was pretty pish today, bar perhaps some singing from Strawberry Corner (that I heard on TV)

i thought it was canny tbh.

Err yes, after we conceded we went dead. No effort from half the players, sloppy passes - not to mention how depressing the atmosphere got.

It was arguably the best performance of the season. We would have comfortably won had we have taken our chances.

We need more of you.

That said Howe's subs were shambolic.

I didn't agree with Howes subs but ultimately the game should have been put to bed by those on the pitch as they should have versus Everton. Fulham was more Howe for me of all the games...

We have a massive issue at the moment, we can’t score goals. I personally don’t think we’re creating anywhere near enough chances, regardless of the ones Gordon and Isak missed today.

if it’s not sorted quickly we’re gonna see ourselves plummeting down the table. Really doesn’t matter how much possession we have in games.

At home I'd love to see:

                 Isak

Barnes    Gordon    Joelinton

          Bruno      Tonali
