Can't wait for this lad to arrive, since becoming acquainted with Georgia and its people over the years, the idea of having a Georgian once again playing for us is exciting for me.

I'll be back in Tbilisi this month to hopefully catch his last game for Dinamo Tbilisi before he joins us at the beginning of September. A diehard Dinamo fan I've been speaking with is downbeat about the club, ownership and management (not helped by city rivals Saburtalo once again sat top of the league), but he speaks glowingly about "Vakho".

Joins end of the month, is he staying with us like Soo?

I'd imagine he'll be off on loan. He's had a bit of a weaker year, at least compared to the previous.

Scored 1 goal and assisted 2 in the league for Tbilisi over 10 starts and 7 showings off the bench. Including all comps he had 22 apps totalling 3 goals/2 assists.

The above output is down from the previous year, where he had 6 goals and 2 assists across 29 league games with nothing added across all comps (36 total games).

His minutes played dropped from 2300~ to 1170~ from the prior season to last with no apparent injury record.

Notably, he has spent the majority of the 24-25 season playing at RW while classically he played CF. Seemingly this is due to 36 year old CF Vatsadze playing up top primarily.

He seems less than effective on the wing, but he is just about to turn 18 so positionally things may change.

Possibly Tbilsi not prioritizing him too since he's off anyway?

You might be right. It's that or just general squad needs.

Moot point but Erovnuli Liga isn't finished yet as they run similar to Scandi leagues, so perhaps he would finish strongly given the chance (not that we'll ever know).

Hopefully we can get him a good loan, ideally in a German / Dutch league.

I'll be at two Dinamo Tbilisi games this month (Telavi away, Gareji at home) so if he does play I will share my impressions. Unsure if he will mind, maybe a farewell cameo in the home fixture but I get the impression they've been keeping him injury-free ahead ahead of his move. He's loved as a character and rated highly as a player here.

My landlord's cousin here in Tbilisi is a centre back for FC Rustavi who has played against Salia a few times, and was giving me a bit of a summary of his game last night.

Apparently he's injured at the moment, but is due back in the new year so hopefully we begin to see him in U21 games. He described him as a constant nuisance, a pure finisher with good pace and clever runs in behind. Not much of a dribbler apparently, but he can fashion himself a yard of space and always looks to shoot early. He can hold up the ball quite well and use his frame to bring team mates into play. He's strong, hard working and relentless so I got the impression he would be great anywhere across the front line in a high press, and mentality wise apparently he's a monster with notable confidence and determination.
