Being a pro footballer is the ideal career to be single. Could be retired by 34, still get a lass and knock out a few bairns (if you wanted kids).

 

Yet nee one does it.

In a way, but a lot of them seem to want stability off the pitch and they're not really able to go out clubbing every night. 

 

Staying single easy, dating loads of people probably very difficult. If you want to be a good professional anyway.

Marriages in football do seem very stable :lol:

 

Everyone is seemingly shagging about regardless.

I think the idea that your children will be able to see you play at a high level is a big pull too.

 

If you're retiring in your early to mid 30s your kids are unlikely to see you play if you leave it 'later' to have kids

Surely most of it is just football culture. I reckon most football players need a mother (wife) as many of them seem incapable of taking care of themselves. 

 

Didn't Alex Ferguson pretty much force his players to settle down for his sake?

 

Anyway. Probably a smidge of all our suggestions

The absolute boat load of money he makes likely helps him get over it but Adarabioyo, could have been a really big player, regular starter and a known name to his fan base, instead he is just one of about 345 players and a lad half his fan base likely barely even know.

 

There has to be moments he regrets that

I always feel the financial security that comes for footballers fast forwards their lives to the point where wrong decisions are made with their partners.

 

Foden/Sterling off the top of my head seemly had kids and are/are getting married early.
