OoOGazOoO Posted February 1 Share Posted February 1 I think how desperate we were for him to come back and actually have what seemed to be a 'proven PL goalscorer' back in the mix to take the pressure off Woltemade, has made his performances even more disappointing. He has had a bad injury but there's nothing so far which has been overly exciting about him in my opinion. Just seems to go through the motions jogging about chewing gum with a fairly chilled attitude. He has scored a few goals but none of them have actualyl been of much quality, in fact pretty much the opposite. Add in the crazy transfer fee and with each performance it raises more eyebrows. Someone posted a video of his goals for Brentford a couple of pages back it that seemed to be a hallmark of most of his goals in all honesty. Mind, score 20+ bundled tap-ins a season and I’ll be ok with that! Honestly have been surprised how bad his first touch is. He looks fit enough now, he's shown bursts of pace so I am at a loss why he looks so clumsy on the ball. Sometimes I like his movement, sometimes I don't. I'm not noticing him much on the ball in terms of touch and decision-making, passing. But not much seems to come off. He certainly hasn't made the Isak impression of just next level ability and striking. Gutted we didn't get Etikite - he's the opposite of Wissa to me. From the first clips I saw I thought "yeh this boy has it". That mastery of a football, touch, confidence, tech - you know - could see lad was a baller straight away. Good record at a young age, this is a footballer. Wissa is evidently not a baller but can't tell is he Anthony Gordon or Elanga? - I fear he's more the inferior route. Which is fine if he's got a sharp eye for goal and he just seems ok in that regard. For the money spent you would want a Callum Wilson in his late 20's level player.
