Our best player. Subbing him for Willock one of the stupidest decisions I've ever seen from Howe.

What can Eddie do though? His contractually obligated 60th (ish) minute reactionary subs had to happen.

Mad the amount of stick he gets, considering he’s one of our only players who doesn’t treat the ball like a bomb. Need more players like him.

Dont put him in midfield then .

Funny how we all see this but Eddie doesn’t. Lots around me at the City game were screaming for him to stop with the stupid fucking experiment but he isn’t letting it go.

He's absolutely shite, one of the main reasons we were getting overran in midfield.

Well he isn’t a midfielder no. He isn’t “shite” though is he. Thankfully he had the ability to pass on a turnover.

I don't think he's that good in general tbh.

A player without a position.

Well he’s played as a striker his entire career? Usually in a two. Naglesman seems to think he has a position.

Agreed. Feels like a real luxury player that we can’t afford at the moment. Would love him to work out, but I just can’t see him fitting into Eddie’s philosophy.

The philosophy of running hard and not being able to keep control of a football? Same yeah, don’t think that’s his fault though

If we had won we'd be praising his asssit and all round performance.

Given we lost,he rightly should be another scapegoat.

We don't play the style to use technical players and Howe doesn't know how to change his system to do that. Needs huge performance in next 7 days or will lose more of the fans. I'm just not seeing an elite manager or anywhere close right now. It all looks pathetic

I remember feeling slightly uncomfortable watching his unveiling video for the club where he was asked who his favourite player is and he answered Kai Havertz. Didn't quite realise we were getting a poorer version of him.

He was most likely going to have to learn this season with Wissa being the main striker. Sadly Wissa is clearly finished/not fancied so he’s been tasked with being the 9 for his first games (which he did well) then forced to play in midfield (where he didn’t as he’s painfully slow). Hardly fair to judge him based on that.

Howe confirmed in his presser that he was more of a 10 in the first half. He was right on Xhaka, it was a good battle.

I think the play second half needed to be to shift Gordon wide and try Woltemade up top to create some overloads against their midfield. Even just for a short period. Gordon's pressing had dropped right off second half anyway.

I still think either play him up front or bench him.

Bench then as he can't play up front

I actually thought he did okay today
