In Germany.........

9 goals for us upfront in 23 games worth of minutes. No pens either which could've made it a potential 15.

And he's not a striker, shite, an albatross, a donkey and makes everything worse by simply existing, moreso in a Newcastle starting XI.

Not bad on balance tbf to the lad.

First season in England too, but yeah can’t play up front. Better give Naglseman a call and let him know, he clearly isn’t as in tune with tactics as our fans

Mad the amount of stick he gets, considering he’s one of our only players who doesn’t treat the ball like a bomb. Need more players like him.

eddie likes workhorse and athletes. wolte aint that. so he won't suit eddie's system. and eddie must stop his experiments with him in midfield. crazy stuff.

And that’s fine, that’s eddies philosophy, I disagree but whatever. My issue is, that doesn’t mean Woltemade is “shite”, and why sign him in the first place?

Funny how we all see this but Eddie doesn’t. Lots around me at the City game were screaming for him to stop with the stupid fucking experiment but he isn’t letting it go.

The only alternative today was Willock mind who came on and paid tribute to Elanga by dribbling the ball out of play and misplacing every lass.

PSR black hole if they sell him; whether you like him or not

Depends how much the club are prepared to lose, no idea on the figures but a PSR loss of 10 / 20 million might be better than an unhappy player who can't offer us anything up front.

Ive not given up on him but the only hope is changing the squad/tactics which may cost more than the hit on him

Excuses.

See Haertz etc for so many examples of german attackers being incapable in England.

Farmers league.

Maybe so, but you said he didn’t have a position. He does. And havertz has won a CL and is about to win a PL, so I’d say he’s done pretty well over here. If that’s a failure then that sounds great

Don’t understand that either, Arsenal fans (most of them) are pretty relieved to have Harvertz back. But if you expect every striker to be Shearer\ R9 reincarnated, then there is a world of disappointment waiting for you when you buy an inexperienced prospect from an inferior league.

Exactly, we were spoiled with Isak and his development, though he only had 10 goals in his first season. He also flopped big time in the “farmers league”. Progress isn’t linear. I wish people would just wait like a bit before completely writing someone off. He’s 24 in his first season in a new country. Isak was the exception, not the rule

The season is over. Play him as a number 9 with Gordon/Elanga/Barnes whoever narrow and playing off him. Let Hall and Trips/Tino provide width. The midfield offers nothing going forward anyway, only gets passed to the back 4, out to full backs and a ball down the line. No wonder we're so easy to defend against when every team knows we will not go through the middle. Just take a risk, he's a 70mil striker with a great touch and head for the game, give it a chance now there's nothing worthwhile to play for. Even if there was something to play for we aren't getting it playing like this. Crap football reliant on pressing goalkicks. Thats 70-% of our goals the last 2 years. Trying to think of a game we created chances through our own play throughout a match, can't.

Chelsea prepared to offer Nick Woltemade striker role

Newcastle are thought to be interested in Delap, which could give Chelsea an opportunity to sign Woltemade, it seems.

Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that the Club World Cup winners will ask about Woltemade’s availability if his current employers make an approach for Delap.

According to Phillips, Chelsea are also willing to promise the German that he can play up top.

Pedro will definitely be staying at Stamford Bridge after his goalscoring exploits this season, while Emanuel Emegha is arriving in the summer, so there could be some serious competition in the centre-forward position if Woltemade does join.

Chelsea have seen what the Germany international can do first-hand after conceding two goals against him earlier in the season.

One of the few players with legit football IQ that we have.

We should be building around him.

I completely agree.

Nick plays the best passes on the team and distributes the ball most intelligently.

Unfortunately, we don't have enough players with game intelligence on the team.
