He's a free option Kaka man. Worst case is he flops season 1, is loaned out season 2 and they sell at worst break even on an accounting basis year 3

If they don't care about cash burn, (most clubs don't ) then hes basically free.

So the question becomes why not grab him?

I mean ... if this is how they choose to operate then that's on them. I think it's incredibly irresponsible if they're doing this just to stick it to Newcastle.

They should probably focus more on getting their shit together for next season after blowing near £500 million last summer to go backwards.

Lets move on and go get someone else and see how long they'll keep chasing us around [emoji38]

I honestly think after a few seasons of losing Champions League places to us and Villa, and us winning a trophy that they have shared amongst themselves for the decade prior, the top 6 clubs are deliberately taking the targets of ours and Villa, as well as the best players.

They know that they have the additional revue to do it. They also know that the Premier League and UEFA won’t do fuck all even if they did breach their losses, just like how Man Utd were able to claim covid losses far beyond and way after other clubs were, and how Chelsea have been able to sell their women’s team to themselves and UEFA said fuck all but have put us and Villa on a warning.

They are already on about changing the rules so the Premier League can negotiate punishments with clubs behind closed doors, just like when they choose to give themselves a pitiful fine that was suspended for the shortest period of time which didn’t even cover the court case the ESL had in European courts.

That’s gone on for years. City and Chelsea did it all the time to Man U, Spurs and Arsenal.

That’s not my point. My point is that Madrid can literally stop the transfer happening, I mean they literally had to turn around to us and tell us that we needed to insert a clause so they can prevent us from selling to Barcelona.

My point is Madrid cant. This is an agreed deal by all parties.  Only Liverpool can stop it now.

Liverpool haven’t negotiated the fee.  Not with Real, not with Osasuna.

If some one offered me only actually signing 7 but they were all our first choice and we overpaid 10% for all of them plus the Agent incentive, I’d snap your hand off.

Yeah, I understand. Unfortunately I think they're operating in a much stricter fashion than that. I'm also not certain that he's specifically a first option, rather than just the one that we had advanced furthest quickest and so were looking to tie up.

Well Liverpool literally started out by buying every decent player during the 70’s and 80’s.

Man Utd before them bought every single decent young prospect, there was no fucking reason for Bobby Charlton leaving his family in Ashington before he was due to leave school to play for Man Utd.

No no, it's not about doing anything to stick us. Honestly they don't see us as competition so we are an irrelevance to them.

My comment is referring to why it's a no brainer for them to buy him, the deal has very little downside and to clubs who are owner by funds this is very appealing.

That wasn’t the hold up though.  Once they are stalling, we move onto other targets.

It's not a huge sum of money and we've got the Gordon money. Trigger the release clause and make the player make a decision.

If he doesn't want to come then onto the next.

I mean they are supposed to be in for Barcola. You don’t go in for Barcola and then get Muñoz instead.

Yeah, so they're just hoarding players because it's a good deal, and he's happy to go there because the money is good. Fair enough.

I think this is pure foolishness from both parties if that's the case. We just have to get on with it really. After last summer's shenanigans we should now be well prepared with a plethora of options, and so there should be no excuses from the club really.

Go out there and get shit done in spite of all this bullshit.

They are meant to be in for Diomade as well.

They have a lot to do and I don't forsee them spending 450m this summer. Again, you see a risk free option you take it.

And eventually when.were down to our 8th choice after the toxic 6 pull this crap for the other 7 we go after, we MIGHT sign a player.

You never know...

Yup pretty much. Take off your black and white glasses and it all becomes rather clear.

Player gets the prestige of playing for Liverpool with a super easy out if he bombs plus a nice wage. Liverpool get a cheap player who they won't lose money on.

As mentioned, in this context we are an irrelevance.

We are an irrelevance to everyone.

They either us our interest to get a transfer somewhere else.

Or start well and then half arse it to force a move.

Or use us to get a season long ban out the way then leave.

I'm sick of it.

It's a fair point that maybe we should be looking more towards gazumping the Everton, Brighton, and Bournemouths of the world than getting gazumped ourselves by bigger clubs.

(I say this with full awareness that we just lost out on a signing to Brighton )

There’s nothing wrong with going for targets where some of them choose bigger clubs - this is about speed.

Pretty much.

Lets also see what happens over there as the season rolls along. Sometimes these things can also have unexpected consequences.

They thought they were being cute last season with the Ekitike and Isak thing, and that was ultimately what started the unravelling of their season when they tried forcing Isak into the team when Ekitike was flying early on.

I can't help but wonder what Rio and his camp will think about this move to bring another young winger in. They've already been flirting with Bayern Munich, and they are still looking to agree a new contract after he broke into the England team.

Hope this all ruffles some feathers and blows up in their face somehow someway.

We should decide who we want, compile a list, then email the list to the toxic twats asking which ones will they 'allow' us to try and sign and go from there.

Sad thing is I'm only half joking.

The other option is take the points deduction and sign whoever the fuck we want, offer massive wages and basically stick two fingers up to the system.
