The racism charge, or it could be that the Hargreaves deal will go through this week, meaning if theres any truth in the Emre to Bayern rumours then hes keeping himself fit to ensure it goes through. Or it could be that hes actually injured. I would be sad to see Emre go because weve not looked to get the best out of a talented player. He was looking a quality player alongside Butt, a partnership with two good players who specialise in compensating for each others' weaknesses - Emre poor defensively, Butt strong in that department, Butt poor on the ball, Emre strong in that department. Its a similar scenario to the Kluivert-Bellamy partnership - a player with a bigger reputation, the club captain, unfortunately comes first before what looks to be a better unit altogether. Nobody Posted January 22, 2007 Share Posted January 22, 2007 I would be willing to give emre until the rest of the season, especially with there being no hint of any new midfielders coming in, in my opinion he is more of an european player than league player, but just how far we go in the UEFA cup is anyones guess also if there is no improvement before then then we have given him adequate time to become aquainted to the premiership, thats 2 seasons, hell of a chance considering what luques been given Emre has been good for us though, we are clearly a better side with him in CM. Off the top of my head: Old Trafford, stood out amongst a shower of shiite. Blackburn, running the show before the umpteenth tackle aimed at him caused injury. The Bonk Posted January 26, 2007 Share Posted January 26, 2007 Newcastle United midfielder Emre has denied a Football Association charge of using racially-aggravated and/or insulting words against Everton last month. The Turkey international has been brought to task over an alleged incident which took place in the Premiership clash on 30th December. It is claimed Emre made racist comments, with Everton's Tim Howard, Joleon Lescott and Joseph Yobo all reacting furiously towards the player after Newcastle were awarded a penalty in the 3-0 defeat at Goodison Park. Emre has always maintained his innocence since the allegations were made and has now requested a personal hearing. Referee Dermot Gallagher did not hear the alleged comments and The FA called on Everton to provide further details about the offence. The FA's official website issued a brief statement to confirm that Emre has denied the charge. "Newcastle United's Belozoglu Emre has denied a charge of using racially-aggravated abusive and/or insulting words and has requested a personal hearing." He said Vs. He said, He said, and blah blah blah... Probably the most confusing allegation so far this year. Should become a debacle soon enough. I don't think he did it, but who knows.
