I was the guest of Mansion last week at White Hart Lane and was told by the head of business development that Freddy offered the name of our ground to them for £5m. He was in the meeting but Mansion told him to get lost as everyone would still call it St James'. This was a bit of shock when i heard this but seems like not a bad deal for 5m quid, afterall who calls the Gallowgate the Newcastle Brown Stand??? thoughts? When it was first built it was widely known as 'The Cellnet'. beat me to it..loads of smoggs did call it "the cellnet" and i'd flog the name of the stadium to the mackems if they paid enough.we'd still call it St Jamses.i sut in the gallowgate end,don't know what its new name is.
