Top 10 premiership strikers?

Recommended Posts

Rebrov was ace.

yeah as was the phenominal Carl cort or the goalscoring machine that was John Dahl Tommasen or maybe the under-rated scottish terror Duncun Ferguson. Whats your point?

except that we know they weren't good. There's probably some Spurs fans arguing Rebrov was actually better than Shevchenko.

Well Rebrov hit 15 goals in he's first season for us so at this rate he is actually having a better first season then Shevchenko. Trust you to be the one that uses Shevchenko as the example of a good premiership striker  :idiot2:

Without even checking, I'm willing to bet he struggled to get 15 goals in his whole time at Spurs, let alone in his first season. I think you're talking patter, as per usual.

wikpedia have it at 12 goals in 36 games which i think is 99% wrong. A goal every 3 games is still a good record though.

Will find a better article in a bit.

Go on then. Shevchenko has 9 already half-way through February and he's had a torrid time.

says 10goals in 59 games tbh on Wiki.  :uglystupid2:

League only though. 12 in total, according to that.

thanks for replying to him. In future hoon i suggest you read the entire article properly before being so quick to state a mistake. saves you looking like a complete :uglystupid2:

still a fairly gash record for an £11m signing. To think you could of bought one and a bit Albert Luque's for that.

kd - what i mean - what do you get out of coming on here saying that bloody berbatov is a better striker than owen?

i don't mind non-nufc fans on the forum for the sake of a good discussion, but why do you start so general threads on a forum where "you don't really belong"?

As Billie Piper once said "because i want to, because i want to".

Stevie can you please explain to me how Les ferdinand "didnt want to be there"? oh and Ilie Dimitrescu was a midfielder my friend O0

Of course he didn't want to be there you fool.  He's admitted several times since he was absolutely gutted at having to leave Newcastle for a club like Tottenham, he said in his autobiography it took him 6 months to get over not playing for us anymore, but privately I think it was just as much the fact he was stuck with Spurs, at the time it was like swapping finest Moet champagne for cans of ACE lager..  It was on our part the one of the biggest mistakes we've made, KD didn't want him to go neither but the cuntish PLC board wanted the £6m from one of English football's most desperate clubs who were willing to pay that for a 30 year old.  We got his best days though that's for sure.

TBH, 12 is more than I thought Rebrov got in his 1st season. He actually got worse (a la Luque) in his time there though. As for Sir Les, despite being a childhood Spurs fan, I think he was genuinely gutted when he was sold to Spurs and seemed to lose his appetite for the game to a degree after he left.

Ok, this isn't just for this season:

1.  Henry

2.  Shevchenko (say what you like, before this season he was the best in the world)

3.  Drogba

4.  Rooney

5.  Owen

6.  Larsson

7.  Van Persie

8.  Fowler

9.  Kuyt

10.  Cole

Some of these players are past it now, but because it's not just a list for this season, are in there on previous form.

Henry

Drogba

Rooney

Martins

Owen

Kuyt

Larsson

Bellamy

Van Persie

Anelka

I think Berbatov is a class act and I like the way McBride leads the line at Fulham, great in the air ( a bit past it maybe) but you know what you are going to get week in week out ie. 100% commitment to the cause.

What's this? All-time form but only for players currently playing in the Premier League? Strange criteria but if so Sheringham would need to be in there.

so a goal every three matches is good for rebrov - and yet you hold that owen is not even on you top ten list..... hehe

im talking about in terms of rebrov being a total flop. Your argument would have made more sense if i had said or implied that rebrov was better then Owen. I didnt do that so im afraid your argument holds no weight.

Stevie you wouldnt happpen to be lying again by any chance. I can imagine him saying He was gutted to leave Newcastle but im guessing you've altered thing like you normally do with the "club like spurs" bit.

Berbatov better than Owen!

This is up there with Huddlestone being better than Fabregas!

Tell us what makes him better then, Kingdawson.

Why is it getting to you so much Baggio? youve commented on the same thing about 3 times, get over it already. As you already know, im always quite critical of Huddlestone on GG, but i guess you need something to go on about.

to be fair to KD berbatov has a better record than Owen at international level, and was also ace in the bundesliga. i'd also say he is more skillful and has more to his game than Owen does. doesn't mean he is better in the premiership though, as we've seen some top players struggle to adapt here.

Stern John has a better record at International level than both Owen and Berbatov, also Owen's Premiership goals per game ratio is better than Berbatov's in the Bundesliga which is an inferior league (similar to Kuyt in Holland)

He is more skillful and does have more to his game, then again so does Peter Crouch, however it's goals that win games and Berbatov isn't even in the same class bracket at that compared to Michael Owen.

Seriously, yes, as a striker, first and foremost, he is there to score goals, which he has done wherever he has played, and has already scored several times for Fulham.
