Upgrading all hospitality this summer and spending a fortune apparently. Ticket prices going up, some exceeding £10K. Phone calls next week to existing ticket holders in these areas.

Barracks is getting a light refurbishment, and offering some other shite perks which I don't want.

Price up 15% to 3,300pp.

Shite.

It’s only just opened.

What happened to Ashley’s let it rot and let the carpets in hospitality look like something from WHSmith and The Mushroom philosophy?

You must have had your call with a different person to me, they told me it was getting an overhaul 🤣

Half time doughnuts and churros though eh?! [emoji38]

yes.  And if demand allows it will be like that every year.  Also I dont think they let you go from corporate season ticket to standard one.  There are going to be lots of people who could "just about" afford corporate and have had it for years suddenly having nothing.

I'm in that boat and the cost was already fairly hard to swallow.

I'll give it the next season to see how I fare, but honestly it's probs just over the cusp of what I could stretch.

Fucking halftime doughnut or churros man, fucking absolutely tone deaf shite for people who are there for a shmooze first and football second.

Hate the barracks and the culture around modern football now.

It's not even tone deaf, that's the problem. It's literally the way they want it to go, just like going to the opera and the races for people who don't give a fuck about those either

Thats sucks.  I'm not a season ticket holder and would love one, so hopefully not biased.  I think anyone priced out of corporate season tickets should be offered standard season ticket, or put high up on waiting list.  Just put some caveats in that you must have had it for 3-5 years or something similar.

Why tf should someone who can afford corporate, who then decides they can't anymore, get first dibs on a standard ST ahead of someone who's waiting there?

Cry more fucking tears 😉

I think that is a bit harsh.

Picture this scenario...  you are on a waiting list and you get offered a season ticket, you have been waiting 3 years or something, the only area in the ground is one of the "premium seats" in corporate.  It is GBP3500 for the season and it is more than you can really afford but, you have wanted a season ticket for so long that you just go for it.  The next season the price increases (a lot) and you really cannot afford it but, you waited 3 years to get into the ground.  If you drop out now you are back at the end of the queue.

I do not think it is unreasonable to think that you would be offered to move to a standard area or at least be given an early chance to buy a different season ticket if one should become available.

I don't think the corporate and season ticket waiting lists will ever be the same thing. It'll be more likely in this scenario that somebody would buy a corporate ticket and then complain about price increase to try to jump the ST queue.

That's fair enough.

I seen a kid moaning that his £19 a game ST was going up to £30 a game.

I cried tears of purple piss for the lad.

Up until really recently there were loads of cases like this, some people on the Ashley 10 year scheme that rolled on for much longer.  Some quite hefty differences in cost for season tickets in the same areas of the  ground.  I think all the "10 year deals" are now removed and everyone is paying the same price depending on the tier of the ticket.

It is grim that football went this way tbf - £570 is a lot of money.  It’s hard to imagine it ever being clawed back to being the people’s game again, but it is an act of cultural destruction that it’s been wrestled away from its working class roots to be packaged and sold to the wealthy

Just for clarity, I'm not arguing to jump any ST queues. I've already had lengthy discussions/arguements with NUFC when they rug swept me in the gallowgate club and barracks was essentially my only guaranteed 'In' or join the membership/ballot.

I am where I am and when it gets too much, I'll be replaced by someone who has more financial means than me and on it goes.

But the price against what the barracks offers is fucking shite for me. I've heard that many Beresford anecdotes I swear the fucker lives in a box room under the stairs in St James'.

The food is a non-starter also, absolute chuff served up en masse to pissed up day trippers and corporate cling-ons.

I just want to pay for a seat
