That will teach Ashley once and for all tbh I just took the 'United For Newcastle' out, as I am now longer part of that shambles. I thought i had left the group ages ago, thats sorted now though. Arghhhhh, no! The club (NUFC) do not get paid anything directly relating to the advertisements, they have cos around 42k to put in place. NUFC covered this cost £42k was paid in 2008 and 2009. Are you sure these are signage costs? The same figure, two years running... Not that it matters much, but I thought someone said that the £42K was just an actual cost in the 2008 accounts, and the 2009 accounts just referred back to it? That's correct. However, the way he is going about it at the moment makes it look like he is planning to hang around for a while - unless he is getting the club so tied in with SD that a new owner would have no choice but to continue with it. I guess the transfer budget will have to be cut next Summer to pay for removing all the branding for the Olympics. I honestly think it has got to the stage where it must be having little or no effect - surely it is just wallpaper now. Said it before in this thread - It wouldn't surprise me if another of the conditions of purchase (along with having to stump up for a exec box for 5 years) is that all SD.com advertising has to stay for a certain period of time after handover? Regardless whether he cant flog it yet or is simply using it for himself, this is where football is going and while people laugh at what goes on in the states, thats exactly where we are heading. This continual rise in players salaries will only lead to more and more money being squeezed out of the game. Wouldnt surprise me in a few years time to have TV breaks after 22 mins, half time and 67 minutes. Going to hell........ Oh fucking hell. You've decided to sign up on here as well, have you?
