The arena stadium could have then been converted as nufc new training complex where the ladies and the U-21s could play. Ambitious yes, but the chairman said he wanted to be no 1 and that can't happen without that level of ambition. Sadly that's not an option anymore. It just seems like we are losing momentum I'm 50 next year, I'll be 60 before St James Park is ready with that plan

TBG
Can't wait for the day we get the Tweet out of the blue linking to a club statement saying the club is delighted to announce it has acquired land and is to begin immediately the construction of a new 96,000 capacity stadium. Why only 96,000 is only a question Mitchell can answer. Howe possibly if we get beat in the game prior to the announcement.

If we weren't wasting £650,000 per week on Matt Targett we could afford an even bigger stadium

Turnbull2000
My word we are light years behind seeing that. If PIF aren't confident enough of a return on investment with a new ground (be it financial or sportswashing), it'll probably not happen.

AyeDubbleYoo
I mean, that’s obviously not what football means to me but it doesn’t seem to affect the normal fan that much. Guess it takes up areas that could be used to cheaper normal tickets, but other than that.
gbandit
I shouldn’t be prejudicial but that north London / Essex twang coupled with spouting platitudes about bottomless brunches triggers me

Tross
They've started using outside venues for hospitality ie 3sixty & Gaucho. Do they then get 'normal' seats or are they put into the platinum or something similar? If its the former then it is affecting the normal fan. timnufc22
Re the east stand... it depends on the leeway with right to light etc, but the roof currently slopes downwards - if it was straightened, which would add only a small amount of height, then I don't see why another tier couldn't be added to hang over the current seats, which would add around 2-3k. With a Gallowgate & corner expansion on top you're talking around 65k capacity. New boxes in the Gallowgate could operate that sort of stuff Spurs do in that video. BoSelecta
Owners desperate to put money in, not allowed unless your rip the guts out of sections of the ground and replace it with these cunts. What a sad state of affairs. We should be signing who we want with rock bottom ticket prices. Edited September 25, 2024 by BoSelecta
