Thespence
Was thinking of the best players who are from Newcastle supporting area's who did not come through our youth ranks. Got 10 so far could not think of a left back though. Any ideas? Or got any better XI's GK - Steve Simonsen RB - Brian Laws LB - CB - Steve Bruce CB - Jack Charlton RW - Bobby Robson CM - Bryan Robsom AM - Bobby Charlton LW - Chris Waddle CF - Peter Beardsley CF - Alan Shearer Subs so far: Norman Hunter,Brian Little, Michael Carrick. Not considered:Gordon Armstrong or Don Hutchinson,Tommy Widdrington,Tommy Johnson

Cronky
You could cheat a bit and put Laws at LB and Trevor Steven at RB. He played a few games for England as a right wing-back.

There are no decent left backs I could think of though, which spoiled it a bit. Waddle didn't play for the youth team mind, but Newcastle were his first club. We were his first pro club aye, but we paid a fee for him when we signed him from Tow Law Town so he didn't come through at NUFC.

I'm not sure Kenny Wharton could be classed as having come through the Youth Ranks, he signed for Newcastle from Grainger Park Boys Club and went straight into the reserves. I can't remember him playing at any level lower than the reserves.

1878
Good team. Shame about the goalkeeper. Could you not cheat and just put Steve Harper since he actually signed from Seaham Red Star? Simonsen is a decent keeper. He's had a great couple of seasons at Stoke. Never really got a fair crack of the whip at Everton after his dodgy transfer from Tranmere where he looked the dogs bollocks
