Trevor Steven was an excellent player.

Chris Armstong is his brother Gordon?

Chris Amstrong, currently left back/left midfield for Sheffield United, went to Gosforth High School.

Not a bad line up.

Do you a team made of players who are from Newcastle supporting area's who came through NUFC youth system could match it bluelaugh.gif

The full ingredients of a Freddy Shepherd wet dream.

You could include Frank Clark at left back.

or Alan Kennedy, or kenny Wharton, Wes Saunders .....

Or you could have read the first post in the thread and realised why non of the players you mentioned were included.

True.

There are no decent left backs I could think of though, which spoiled it a bit. Waddle didn't play for the youth team mind, but Newcastle were his first club.

We were his first pro club aye, but we paid a fee for him when we signed him from Tow Law Town so he didn't come through at NUFC.

Good team. Shame about the goalkeeper. Could you not cheat and just put Steve Harper since he actually signed from Seaham Red Star?

I'm not sure Kenny Wharton could be classed as having come through the Youth Ranks, he signed for Newcastle from Grainger Park Boys Club and went straight into the reserves.  I can't remember him playing at any level lower than the reserves.

Simonsen is a decent keeper. He's had a great couple of seasons at Stoke.

Never really got a fair crack of the whip at Everton after his dodgy transfer from Tranmere where he looked the dogs bollocks
