James
We need to get as many points in the bag before Christmas, potentially being top four by this point looking at the fixtures. Then come some really tough games that you'd expect to lose over January, and in all probability, we'd be looking after then to secure a UEFA cup spot if all goes to plan. However, if Ashley provides the rumoured January bonus, and Allardyce pulls off some Bolton-esque away victories at the top-4 clubs we play in that period, we could have a title race in our hands. Looking at where the club are now, and how the season will develop, we couldn't have had a better set of fixtures.

manorpark
Don't they claim that the fixtures are completely random? Can it be on telly though, aren't all opening day fixtures on at the same time? How can they be random - CHELSEA AGAIN!! (Last HOME game) This cannot be coincidence, surely?
Dave
CONSPIRACY! Probably because they know it gets good viewing figures for a usually meaningless game.

James
Mourinho: "When we have Newcastle as our last game away, we win the league. If we don't, we do not. For once, it would seem that the fixture people are trying to be in our favour" He hasn't actually said this yet, but he will.

Tisd09
Tough start in August but if we come out of August with a decent points tally September looks like a potentially easier month. Not sure Bolton are quite the prospect they would have been at the start of last season, but least its not any of the big four away.
WarrenBartonCentrePartin
the mackems get us then boro off the bounce in april Oh now won't the Legends just be a delight to listen to that time of the year...
manorpark
I really like August though, a definite "specific challenge" in each game - if any extra motivation is needed. Should ensure even Dyer TRIES!
Tom_NUFC
Away on Boxing Day - AGAIN! When was the last time we were at home on Boxing Day? F*CKING HELL! And of all places to go, we get bleak, dismal Wigan.
Rebellious
I thought the fixtures were not random because of travel, congestion and to avoid driving up from one end of the country to the other to close together.
