Guest nufc_geordie
I have just noticed on BBC that it is rumoured that Reading are going to try and sign Hoyte for £2.5 million. I personally would try and sign the player. He has had good schooling at Arsenal, finishing last season very well when playing regularly. He is the right age, not too young, but still has more potential. I was wondering what other peoples views on Hoyte are?
Dokko
£2m i'd take him since were in need of building a squad, especially if it means the end of both Carr & Babayaro.

Skirge
Decent enough player and not a bad price but if we do have big money to spend then why bother going for the cheaper options..

simmsy10
For his age, ability, price and the sheer fact that he is far better than Carr means he would be a good signing for us at the minute! Anyone agree?
Tsunami
I wasn't impressed with what I saw of him when he was on loan at the Mackems. Pace but little else (other than scoring against us).
Guest Armchair Pundit
One of my mates is an Arsenal fan and he reckons Hoyte's rubbish, I think we could do better.
Guest
Don't see the fuss about him. Wasn't great at Sunderland and hasn't exactly had a prolonged run in the Arsenal side.
Guest Kenton Magpie
The fact that he had a season at Sunderland and didnt really stand out as a top player says it all
Guest gggg
From what I've seen, he'll end up somewhere like Millwall. Average player.
Guest
Might even end up back at Sunderland now that Baird has turned them down.
Thespence
I think Hoyte will develop into a decent to good CB & if £2 million to £2.5 million is to be believed I would think he would be a decent buy. Is his still shagging a Crammy lass? I have herd it is Buzzcocks sis
Kev
I wouldnt want Hoyte rather get a good left back for a couple of million more plus hes a ex-mackem who scored against us!
ohmelads
Don't rate him. Lightweight and too dodgy defensively. He's got pace and can showboat with one or two tricks but he's not an effective footballer at this level.
Nobby
don't rate him, mackem scum anaall
Gash
He didnt make himself look very good playing for the Makems i agree, but he is a good player with good technique, maybe not the best defensively (which isnt good when we are looking at a defender) But i wouldnt like to see him leave Arsenal, hes a good player and a quality back-up to Eboue (and now seemingly Sagna) He has recently signed a new "long term" deal at the club, so i dont think he will/should go! Thespence
Ash - Do you not think in the long term he will become a CB?
Guest maznislav
A decent player, but don't actually think that he is better from one that we have already.
Yorkie
Same thing with Luke Young. People want him just cos he's dirt cheap. Will we ever learn when it comes to buying wing-backs? Do it properly for God's sake.
ShearMagic
Don't rate him to be honest. Even for as little as 2m. Think we could do much better personally.
Gash
Ash - Do you not think in the long term he will become a CB? 100% not, hasnt got the defensive capability's which is more acceptable at full back, definately not acceptable at CB
Sparks
One of my mates is an Arsenal fan and he reckons Hoyte's rubbish, I think we could do better. I agree, we need to stay well clear. He has never looked good enough at any level he has played at, whether it be Arsenal, England or the Mackems.
