Barton To Have Operation

NEWCASTLE United midfielder Joey Barton will have an operation on Monday after suffering a foot injury during Saturday's pre-season friendly at Carlisle United.

The England international, who was skipper for the 1-1 draw at Brunton Park, sustained a partial fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his left foot.

The Magpies expect Joey to return in six weeks.

Think Allardyce is beginning to realise the size of the task ahead. No defence and injuries starting already.

Any idea when Emre is back from his injury? We really need him now. We'll have to think twice about letting Dyer go...

Get ya todga in ya hand, think of Pam Anderson/Julien Clary (delete as appropriate) and forget Joeys sore toe.

What the hell is the point of pre-season friendlies? Seriously?

Just do the freakin' training and have some practice matches against teammates. This is stupid.
