Guest
Your report to Mr Ashley must cover: Which two players do you want to sell: Names here please (you don't have to sell any or can sell 1) Kieron Dyer & Obafemi Martins Place a price on their head (a reasonable one) and list your reasons for selling. Kieron Dyer - £5m. Pretty well covered in his position, would take a huge chunk out of the wage bill. Obafemi Martins - £13m. Saleable asset, would provide more cash to strengthen the squad, while we already have two quality strikers and a good squad player as back-up. Add the sales money to your new total transfer budget. £33m Bearing in mind who is injured, who is unhappy, who isn't good enough, list your targets and how much you are prepared to spend on them, you must also provide a back-up player in case your first target doesn't want to come, is overpriced or their club doesn't want to sell. Julio Baptista - £8m, (back-up plan = Appiah - £6m) Bobo Balde - £1.5m, (no back-up plan, not serious if can't sign him) Eidur Gudjohnsen - £7m (back-up plan = Nakamura - £6m) Wayne Bridge - £7m (back-up plan = Baines - £6m) Joseph Yobo - £9m (back-up plan = Davies - £5m) Which players do you plan on converting and to what position and why, list them and give your reasons. Not converting him as such, but using Steven Taylor at right-back in away matches against the "up and at 'em" clubs. Line-up opening day. GK - Given RB - Taylor LB - Bridge CB - Rozehnal CB - Yobo RM - Milner LM - N'Zogbia CM - Geremi CM - Baptista CF - Owen CF - Gudjohnsen Harper, Balde, Butt, Luque, Ameobi. Guest
Well Baines then. Of if we do sign Bridge, I'd play Taylor left-back for the first month, Geremi right-back, and play Butt.

Lloydie
O'Shea could be a good shout. We've got to be able to get one defender out of Man Utd. Ferguson looks a bit overstocked.
Guest exilim
Ok. Sell Dyer - 7 Million. Buy-Hangeland 2.5m,Davies 11m,Baines 6m and the rest for a RB. Now whats wrong with that?! Perfect 11 f****** million pounds for Davies? I would rather use that money for better purposes. A cheap one / ex international who have all the experience yet only cost 1-2m (As a backup for the club, preferably play 2 positions at the backline). Hangeland for another 3million will do the job, note that rozehnal only costed us 2.89m. And dyer is probably worthed only 4million, so we have 19million in total if we manage to sell him to West Ham. 14 Million left if we get 2 center backs, so lets offer 6m to baines. Now we are left with 8 f****** million pounds! 3-4 m for Atiba hutchinson will create more depth for our midfield since Barton is now injured. I would love to have another DMC that cost only 4m but i don't think it's possible with the current market rate. So lets go for youngsters with that 4m left, probably 2 youngsters with great prospect. (From some south american club or whatever shiet). Or maybe we can try a cheeky 4-5m bid for Appiah! If you guys allow me, i want to sell that f****** Martins for 13m so we could get Gudjohnsen or Baptista at 6m. I will either spend the 7million left on a good Right back or spend it all on Leroy Lita. YES!
Mowen
Got nothing much to do at work yet, so here goes... Your report to Mr Ashley must cover: Which two players do you want to sell: Names here please (you don't have to sell any or can sell 1) Keiron Dyer and Steven Carr Place a price on their head (a reasonable one) and list your reasons for selling. Probably £5m and £1m. Dyer seems to be unhappy, has huge wages and wouldn't get in my starting lineup - he seems a bit of a luxury player for the bench at the moment. Plus West Ham would spend £5m on him, I'd imagine. Carr is just not goot enough - I'd have him as behind Geremi, Solano and Taylor at RB, but just off the fact he's a biggish name I wouldn't be surprised if we could get £1m for him. Add the sales money to your new total transfer budget. £21m Bearing in mind who is injured, who is unhappy, who isn't good enough, list your targets and how much you are prepared to spend on them, you must also provide a back-up player in case your first target doesn't want to come, is overpriced or their club doesn't want to sell. Joseph Yobo £9m (Backup: Wes Brown £6m) Gabriel Heinze £7m (Backup: Wayne Bridge £6m) Stephane Appiah £5m (Backup: Teemu Tainio £3m) Which players do you plan on converting and to what position and why, list them and give your reasons. I'll probably copy the Nut here and say that Taylor would be a useful RB in a difficult away game where we needed to be combative. I'd also have a go at playing Duff at LB in training - from what little I've seen of him there he's looked like he could do an OK job, and it would give an oppertunity to get Baba off the gravy train. Line-up for opening day: Given Taylor Yobo Rozehnal Heinze Milner Appiah Geremi N'Zogbia Owen Martins subs: Harper, Solano, Butt, Ameobi, Luque. Hmmm. Bench looks a bit shite, but I have assumed Emre, Viduka, Barton, Baba and Duff out injured.
Guest exilim
I would be extremely pissed on FM with our current midfield squad, it looks like shiet. Milner (Solano) Dyer Butt Zogbia (Luque) f****** hell that's mediocre.
Guest
How about Ian Harte as the back-up left-back for about £500k? I'd be f*cking p*ssed off if he came in as our first-choice number 3 because he's not a top 10 full-back, but if we signed a Baines or a Bridge, then Harte as natural back-up on the cheap would be better than Babayaro. Would be on nowhere near the same wages either.

Guest battyleespeed
Dear Mr. Ashley, With the following changes to the current team, within the framework you issued, I believe we will have reasonably good chance of reaching the targets we have set for this season. Sell: Kieron Dyer - We should accept the 7m offer from West Ham since our new signings will be more than able to cover Mr. Dyer's position and his fitness continues to be concern. The 7m is more than reasonable offer for asset which monetary and playing value is on decline. James Milner - 6m I come to this decision reluctantly but we need to raise more transfer funds and James Milner is one of our most sellable assets. His loss will also have least amount of impact to the squad and planned formations. We will still have number of players who can play his positions and ultimately we will need more direct and pacy player in his position to unsettle the opposing defenses. Sign: 1. Peter Crouch (Liverpool) - 12m Signing Crouch should be our top priority as we currently have only one target player for the 4-5-1/4-3-3 formation. Furthermore Crouch is the player to play the centre forward position in longterm. Our offer should match our priorities and determination to get the best for this position. 2. Sami Hyypia (Liverpool) - 3m Although generous offer for 34-year 3m and 2-year contract should see both the player and Liverpool willing to agree to our offer. I am convinced that our fitness specialists will be able to keep him to perform at this level for next two years. Hyypia will bring defensive and leadership skills that are desperately needed and will most likely to be one of the most suitable players to captain our team. 3. Abdoulaye Faye (Bolton) - 2.5m Player that I know throughout from my time in Bolton and his signing at 2.5m presents excellent value for money for position that we need to reinforce. 4. Iván Córdoba (Inter Milan) - 5.5m Córdoba will play for us both left and right fullback positions. He is extremely strong despite his height, has pace and has shown to have leadership abilities. Direct physical player with bags of experience and is renowned for his tackling and man marking abilities. His signing cost Inter 11.5m seven years ago but we should be able to sign him at half price as he is 31 now. 5. El-Hadji Diouf (Bolton) - 5m Given our budget El-Hadji Diouf presents the best we can afford for wide forward positions while still meeting the general requirements of players that we are looking for wide forward positions (pacy, direct and physically strong). Gap plugging: Steven Taylor - To right back to allow us to play Córdoba at left back. Obafemi Martins - Occasionally to play wide-player as Milner will be sold. His pace, dribbling and direct playing style will be asset in counter-attacking situations. Lineup: Given Taylor Hyypia Faye Cordoba Butt Geremi Emre Diouf N'Zogbia Crouch Bench: Harper, Martins, Rozehnal, Viduka, Pattison
