Guest
Haha. Dismissed before Alan Oliver even got a chance to give it to the masses. The Chronicle are leading with this tonight Throw in the fact he lead with that Senegal full-back being in talks when he passed his Sochaux medical on Sunday night, and he really is starting to make a tit of himself. The last week alone he has just wrote lie after lie. Borrowed time hopefully. Their attempt at a forum must have rang a few alarm bells when everyone signed up just to have a go at Oliver. The club are not giving him exclusives anymore, i really can't see any future for him if it continues to carry on like this. Fingers crossed anyway. womblemaster
whats the name of the ombudsman that deals with media?? WE should make a complaint to them about that article. If it proves to be just a pack of lies. Its about time that a line was drawn in the sand against shitty jounalism. its getting rediculous!!!

More insightful journalism by Anal in that piece... "And when United sign a central defender this week it is likely to be another low-budget acquisition whose name will not excite the supporters." He clearly doesn't know who it is, and is just grasping at straws! Would love it if Sam went out and signed an expensive, top drawer Central Defender now, just to make Oliver look even more stoopid!! The guy's ratio of correct stories must be about 1:100, that's bad even for a sports journo.

OzzieMandias
Can't imagine Rupert Murdoch being that bothered about Ashley, either. There are some very significant reasons why SKY would be bothered about Ashley. What, then? That would be another thread. But, Murdoch's failed proposal to buy ManU (was a clue) and his almost total obsession with PL broadcasting rights, along with his (well founded) fear of characters like Ashley, Al Fayed, Abramovitch and the new ManU owners who are rumoured to be looking at (hence their heightened interest in football) 'other means' of revenue streams aside from the TV deal. With streaming and broadband technology now at that stage. The money at stake in football and CL qualification and image ownership is at such a level now that there are a lot of cosy relationships that feel threatened. So because Murdoch couldn't buy Man U, and because the Premiership clubs are looking at increased revenue from new ways of distributing content, the Independent is making up stories about us wanting to sell Martins? Skirge
I would not be surprised at all if this was true, its just like the Toon, a billionaire owner yet we have to sell players before we can buy players. fkn mental but I am worried its what is going to happen. Mick did warn us all when the takeover happend that we could not trust Ashley... BUT Sam Allardyce has laughed off press reports claiming Obafemi Martins will be sold to raise transfer funds at Newcastle. The Nigerian striker was rumoured to be on his way out of St James' Park to allow Allardyce to strengthen in other areas. However, the Magpies boss has moved to vehemently deny any truth in the story, although his search for reinforcements continues. "This story is complete and utter fabrication. There's nothing in it whatsoever," Allardyce told the club's official website. Martins scored 17 goals in his first season with Newcastle following his arrival from Internazionale for £10million last summer. Meanwhile, Fulham are believed to have opened talks with Newcastle over midfielder Charles N'Zogbia. Allardyce is looking to land Papa Bouba Diop as part of any deal but it is yet to be seen whether Lawrie Sanchez will be open to a swap.
