  1. Done http://www.mbna.com/europe/creditcards/direct/partner_fb_newcastle_r.html
  2. Cover the loan on the stadium though Until clubs can handle their own TV revenue But the real money is playing Champions League football. And to do this well European football is a must to really sell the club abroad.
  3. Source - http://www.nufc.com Dyer inches closer to a return Having suffered no reaction to playing the full 90 minutes of a behind closed doors game against Gretna last week, Kieron Dyer took to the field again on Tuesday, looking to prove his fitness ahead of a first team recall. And the former England midfielder got another 65 minutes under his belt as our reserve side played out a 2-2 draw with a Darlington XI at Darsley Park. The visitors took the lead on 15 minutes but with United enjoying the bulk of possession, it came as no surprise when Carl Finnigan teed up his strike partner Andy Carroll for an easy finish just after the half hour. Dyer appeared to be running freely and popped up in the Quakers box on a number of occasions, seeing two shots blocked by the 'keeper and sending a third effort wide. James Troisi put Newcastle ahead with just five minutes left on the clock, running into the box and drawing the 'keeper well before slotting home into the unguarded net. However Darlo weren't finished and levelled the game up in the final minute of normal time. After leaving the field, Dyer told the official website that he felt fine and hoped to have done enough in front of a watching Glenn Roeder to make the squad for Saturday's Premiership meeting with Charlton.
  4. Why would they ? The shares aren't part of their job so if they lost their shares there is no way they are just going to walk away with hardly anything they will stick with what is in their contract.
  5. They'll want to make money. This can only be done by, first and foremost, by pursuing success on the pitch and making Newcastle once again a team that people want to watch – something that now seems to be way beyond Shepherd and his cronies. Aye, they might fail. But then again, this is the second season in a row where the consensus is that we're in danger of relegation. So what's to fear from a change at the top? relegation do you think Belgravia have a bottomless pit of transfer funds? do you think Belgravia have any experience of running a football club? do you think Belgravia have any links to the Premier League, the FA, UEFA, FIFA? do you think Belgravia would put the fans before the balance sheet? Do you think Belgravia directors will be regularly available for talk ins? Do you think Belgravia will stand for copyright infringement of their brand? Do you think Belgravia know why you or I even go to a football match even though we have achieved the some total of fuckall? As the lad said, they're investors, they'll want to make money from their investment and the only way to do that is for NUFC to have a successful football team. Chelsea are very successfull - care to tell us what their profits have been? So what if they've not got any experience of running a football club, I've no doubt they are taking the best advice available and, if and when they takeover NUFC, they will then employ the best people available to take the club forward, irrespective of where they come from! Just like Peter Ridsdale and Bob Murray did. Sod it, we might as well go and poach Gibson from the mutants You think Peter Ridsdale and Bob Murray took the best advice possible ? They need to make more advice available if that's the case. As for Chelsea, it's not been used to make money it's been used as a play toy for the Russian.
  6. And more * In 2005 the club paid £27,000 in rent to Shepherd Offshore Ltd. * In 2004 Douglas Hall sold Newcastle United a "fixed asset" worth £50,000. There is no description of what this asset may be, but Hall was widely reported to have traded in cars in his capacity as director of Cameron Hall. If you know what the club actually bought from him please get in touch. The best suggestion we've had so far is that this was for the N1JFC number plate. * In 2005 SMP Services were paid £335,000 by Newcastle United fpr 'lease rents, having been paid £271,000 in 2004 and £316,000 in 2003. Bruce Shepherd is a director of SMP Services which used to be known as "Shepherd Manpower Limited". This deal is believed to be part of the rental agreement for storage of NUFC merchandise. Again if you have more information please let us know. So a three year total rental cost of £922,000. * BDO Fidecs were paid £3,000 for professional fees in 2004, having been paid £5,000 in 2003, this was reduced to nil in 2005. Tim Revill the only member of the board viewed as independent is a director of BDO Fidecs. The only information we can find on Tim Revill and BDO Fidecs can be seen here http://www.nufc-finances.org.uk/ for even more
  7. The club audit came up with plenty of reasons why there are problems at the club 1. There is only one person on the board of directors who can be viewed as independent. The board is made up of Freddy Shepherd, his brother Bruce, Douglas Hall and his sister Alison. The single independent voice is Timothy Revill an accountant based in Gibraltar. 2. Freddy Shepherd is both Chairman and Executive Director, which means he is responsible for who is on the board, and for the day to day decision making. The Best Practice is that these two roles are not held by the same person. This is to ensure that someone is checking on the standard of work being done by the person running the business. The way it is with Freddy Shepherd is that no one can question how well he is doing. 3. The club does not have someone who can suggest appointments to the board, a "Nominations Committee". This means that Shepherd can appoint who ever he wants into any position without any checking that they are the right person for the job. 4. The Remuneration committee who decide how much to pay board members is made up of only two people Bruce Shepherd and Tim Revill. As Bruce Shepherd is Freddy's brother he is not viewed as being independent. Tim Revill an accountant based in Gibraltar is independent. 5. The money paid to Freddy Shepherd and Douglas Hall is not dependent on how well the club performs, nor on any individual targets that should be set for them in. The Code says is should be. 6. Freddy Shepherd and Douglas Hall are on two years notice. So if NUFC wished to sack them they would have to pay two years salary to them. Freddy Shepherd was paid £500,000 in 2004, Douglas Hall £450,000 per year, so it would cost £1m and £900,000 respectively to sack each of them. The standard is for directors to have contracts of no more than 12 months. 7. The club have an Audit Committee which reviews how well the business looks after its accounts and financial policy. As with the Remuneration Committee this committee is made up of Bruce Shepherd and Tim Revill. Only Mr Revill an accountant based in Gibraltar is viewed as independent.
  8. Toon Taylor I think you should be careful with your comments the club have pretty expensive lawyers who like comments like you made. I think what Invicta_Toon is saying is how did FF get his shares in the club (the amount he started with) unless he had plenty of money. And if he had plenty of money where did he get it from. He's basically saying he's good at business.
  9. Not part of the website anymore just a poster now. Anyway I'd tell Chris to start making FF out shirts
  10. I understand that some people don't want to do any sort of protest that means not entering St James Park and fair does its a big ask to not go and see your team because of the usual board who "runs" the club. Can I instead ask people not to purchase any club merchandise instead? That means no pies or pints at half time and no shirts before the match but I think the board would soon realise that something was up and have to do something. By all means have the planned protests as well but just don't pay another penny in there incompetent pockets. Thanks.
  11. Yeah I have no problem with his wife and hope she gets well soon. Maybe Freddy should quit to look after the "dog"
  12. Balls to that our next manager will probably buy him back for £10m
  13. Which is the problem with protests and Newcastle United fans.
  14. But at the same time the club want to get certain news out to the local rags. So they aren't going give up contacts with the Chronicle for the sake of losing the press coverage they want. If the Ronny Gill did go all out and attack Freddy they might force him out meaning they get to keep their role with the club cause the new board may let them have top coverage. We'll never know though cause the Chronicle will never do it.
  15. I have no doubts we'll reach 30k again.
  16. Is it just me or is all these comments from the board just putting the story about fans being unhappy with the board into the major press alot more ? Maybe Sir John Hall thinks this might just push Freddy into selling up so he can get shot of his shares ?
  17. From www.icnewcastle.co.uk We'll get it right again Oct 24 2006 By Alan Oliver, The Evening Chronicle Sir John Hall has stepped out of the shadows to express his "surprise and disappointment" at the reaction to Newcastle United's defeat by Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on Sunday. And he while he accepts that "vast amounts of money have been wasted on players" he pledged that the club's board will get it right again. The 73-year-old life president, who says he is "just a fan" these days, believes that Glenn Roeder should be given the time to get on with the job he started in such great style last season. Freddy Shepherd was not available today, and no-one at the club was able to comment on the fact that the chairman's wife Lorelle was taken to hospital with a heart problem on Sunday about the same time as United were losing to Middlesbrough. Sources at the club said Shepherd did not want to be seen attempting to win any sympathy vote. Publicly, Sir John rarely gets involved with events at St James' Park these days, but he contacted the Chronicle today to say: "I am very surprised and disappointed with what has happened at Sunday's defeat when, as I understand, a small group of fans chanted for a short time. "I believe it has been blown out of all proportion by sections of the media. "Like I did before him, Freddy Shepherd has backed every Newcastle United manager in the transfer market to the limit of the club's resources. "And, like me, he cannot legislate for what happens on the field. That is up the manager and the players. "It is clear to me and everyone that some of the players brought by previous managers simply have not been good enough. "In fact, our fans must look in amazement at some of the vast sums of money paid out for players who are not good enough for this football club." Quite naturally Sir John would not name names, but there is no doubt in my mind that United wasted £20m on Jean Alain Boumsong and Albert Luque at a time when they had to pay £17m to replace Alan Shearer with Michael Owen and pay the England striker £100,000 a week to come to St James' Park. Roeder is paying the price for this as the current manager has been unable to bring in the players he so desperately wanted in the close season. This led Sir John to add: "Since the Halls and the Shepherds took over the club we have spent over £200m on players as well as making St James' Park into one of the best stadia in Europe, so none of our managers can say that we have not backed them. "Now we will get it right again. We know we have to get it right. "Like every other fan I am disappointed that we are not winning games at the moment and not scoring goals. "We have been unlucky with injuries this season to Michael Owen, Kieron Dyer and Shay Given and our other goalkeeper Steve Harper could hardly walk the other night against Fenerbahce. "No team can really cope with losing this calibre of player, and all this has happened as Alan Shearer retired." It was Hall who began United's revival by bringing Kevin Keegan back to St James' Park, and since then United have brought some of the biggest names in football in Kenny Dalglish, Ruud Gullit, Sir Bobby Robson and Graeme Souness, without any of them being able to land a trophy. Roeder is not a big name, but Sir John insists: "Glenn is one of the most honest and sincere men I have met in football and I have the highest regard for him. "He has got Newcastle United in his heart and he feels the anguish the same as the supporters when results are not going our way. "I am sure Glenn will get it right, but he needs the strength of the fans to get him through. "We have also got to look at ourselves and may appoint a director of football to take some pressure off the manager and make sure we take advantage of modern technology."
  18. The quotes from the company said they hadn't made a bid though didn't they ? They said they had to go through the stockmarket if they were going to make any sort of offer.
  19. Think Sir John Hall needs to find out that it's more than just a small section of fans who aren't happy with the way the club is being run.
  20. I was at the games yes, it's not a case of not liking the lad, I was really hopefully when he first signed. I'd seen him play in the Spanish league and saw what he could do. He has to many problems in this league though, he's still very slow to the ball, like he said he can't take a man on and the fact that a injured Ameobi looks more likly to do something in a match that Luque when he plays shows exactly the reason why he doesn't deserve to play. I judge players on what they do, I can't like or dislike players I don't know them, which is why I judge them on performances and Luques performances have been woeful. I really don't understand why some people are happy to settle for second best I'd much rather see better and better players come into the team.
  21. Ferguson isn't, if he was he'd be telling us to play him and to be honest we should be cause he's probably better than the pair we've got up front at the minute. One thing is for certain though Fergie won't let us have Rossi after January.
  22. I take it you had been drinking before, during and after the games you believe Luque played and looked good ?!?!
  23. Think that sends the wrong message to be honest. If we go in the ground it shows we are behind the team but against Fat Fred. Probably shows to Freddy that if he sits it out and buys another big name player then he'll get the fans off his back. If however everyone stays outside then money is not going into the club. Money is the only thing FF will listen to.
  24. Yes. The fact that Shola looks like he puts in a session when he plays compared to Luque shows how bad it's got for him. He's also got to get in ahead of Sibierski as well, who like I said has played well enough to try and keep his place in the team even though he has played less games than Luque.
