    Babayaro

Booing was a disgrace, no Newcastle player should ever be booed whilst playing, all it does is gives the other team more confidence and to be honest Babayaro wasn't helped by the equally woeful Charlie. All down the left we were shocking thats why Reading starting throwing everything down that wing. Babayaro looked like he was nowhere near match fit because although he's normally bad he's not that bad normally. He should never have started even with injuries, I'm sure we had a youngster who could have took his place.
  2. Don't know about now but there has been in the past as recent as 2 months ago in fact.
  3. It is illegal to post fixture lists, there is currently a case going through the courts somewhere as someone decided to fight back against there club for showing the fixtures. It's been on going for ages so until the outcome of that sites still can't post them. Fan sites also don't get the backing of any of the press because they have to pay for their fixtures and so won't stand up for the fan sites who won't, even though they will benefit if the law changes. As for who's going to do anything, the club has got in touch with me personally twice before about the sites this one and toontastic. Both times threatened with lawyers and frankly I didn't have the cash or the time to argue so just took the stuff down. Thankfully now it's not my worry, if the club comes and asks for stuff to be taken down I can say the site is nothing to do with me which is nice There are plenty of sites available which have streams to all the matches that anyone could possibly want and the Premiership and the clubs are never going to get them shut down, soom clubs like Liverpool don't even want them shut down i don't think because they openly let their fans sites use stuff like that, Newcastle United on the other hand crack down harder than most typically of our two bit club really. But because there are loads of stream sites and the rules are very obvious and spelt out on here the fact is if people want to post links to streams and fixtures etc then find another board it's that simple.
  4. Who says it was Luques fault ?
  5. Can't beat the Copa Mundials and the old Puma Kings to be honest.

  11. He'll probably tell Butt or Parker to play further back than normal and have Taylor Bramble Parker/Butt Ramage.
  12. I decided to go and have a look. Source: Daily Express Newcastle United were last night braced for a £235million takeover approach that would sweep out the current owners and include a property deal worth some £95m. The Belgravia Group, based in Jersey but with addresses in London’s Mayfair and St Helier, were said to be ready to offer £140m to secure the club and its immediate future spending with the rest of the massive sum earmarked for buildings and businesses that would create up to 7,000 jobs. A source close to Belgravia told the Daily Express: “Belgravia have been interested in Newcastle United for some time but made their move last Friday. “It’s not at the stage where Newcastle have an offer to put to the Stock Exchange but the football club knows our thinking. “We are talking about £140m for the club but there is also money for two hotels and a casino, although the offer is not conditional on permission to open a casino.” Belgravia and Polygon, an interested hedge fund, have been encouraged by knowing former chairman Sir John Hall and his son Douglas are willing to sell their majority stake of 41 per cent. Chairman Freddy Shepherd, who owns close to 30 per cent, has been warding off bid speculation for six months and last night he was adamant that no bid had been made. “Everybody wants to buy this club and they talk the talk but can they walk the walk?” he said. “There is no such thing as an informal offer. If they have made an approach it will be to Sir John Hall, whose people do the talking. “If I had a proper offer to consider it would be put to all shareholders, large and small, and it has not happened.” When Belgravia first showed interest in August, the club’s shares were 61p. Last night they closed at 70p, valuing the company at £96.3m. And the value of those shares have virtually doubled during 2006. Shepherd is all too aware of the market value of the club but believes it would take a lot more than that to buy it – while insisting he does not want to do business. There would have to be a dividend, he argues, and any notional sale would be in the region of £150m-£160m. The head of the Belgravia Group is Duncan Hickman, who holds directorships with a number of public and private companies. He has a background of 20 years working for financial institutions primarily involved in offshore fund management. Hickman was a founding partner of the Liberty Ermitage Group where he played a key role in building a $2.5bn asset management group from start-up. Prior to that he ran the Jersey operation of Fidelity Investments and started the fund of funds business for PricewaterhouseCoopers in Jersey. I understand that other, un-named members of the Belgravia Group are driving the interest in Newcastle. And they are not doing it on behalf of wealthy, third-party clients. Belgravia are interested in running a major club themselves, a sign of the financial potential the sport now enjoys. Shepherd could be forgiven for taking a fresh view on a takeover having had to bear the brunt of fans’ anger this season after a string of poor results in the Premiership. New boss Glenn Roeder has delivered another season of European football – and results in the UEFA Cup have been good. But the domestic slump has put the manager’s job on the line. Yet, for the first time in almost a generation, the fans have chosen not to blame the manager but have turned the heat on the chairman. They trained their sights on Shepherd after Newcastle lost at home to Sheffield United this season – prompting him to call for the players to accept their share of blame and insisting there was no “Geordie Abramovich”. Yet, if push came to shove, it is debatable whether fans, who see the club at the heart of their ‘Geordie Nation’, would want St James’ to fall into the hands of relatively unknown businessmen. Shepherd has had to take time out to care for his ill wife in recent weeks. But, publicly at least, his resolve to stay at the helm of the club he loves remains strong. http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/news_detail.html?sku=730
  13. You really have to much time on your hands
  14. Just because you own shares doesnt mean you have to run the club, he could very easily employ someone to do his job therefore making the fans happy.

So go to http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcpredictionleague and make sure you get your results entered.
  17. Must admit I laughed there as well
  18. Only because it is added as a new loan though surely ?
  19. Assests come in about £163m so they are more than the loans. We apparently have £3m in cash so that's not good I take it ? It was £17m at the end of the last period.
  20. Are you saying we need to pay back £67m this year !!!!

  22. Why would this be a problem, the Liverpool board said he was going to cost to much why couldn't ours? We should never break the bank for a player, if we can afford a player and we can cover the signing with the income then fine but we couldn't with Owen hence our now stupid loans we have. Still waiting for someone to explain current and non current.
