  1. Yep and that's the important part. The club said they were meeting what was necessary when we were in the CLs this season. Income will rise again this season with Sela money and CL cash so that's another bonus. Next season will be the first season of the Adidas money on the books as it starts after this seasons results. We'll definitely have space to expand with funds this pre season but we'll have to keep it manageable with lack of CL next season. The money will increase again next pre season and in the mean time we'll have to keep increasing our income streams.
  2. Think that's generally the reason behind the gardening leave for a year. Probably makes more sense to not allow him to work for a year than to make them pay us more.
  3. I'll be honest, with the Brighton tickets. I believe it's more a case of people with low points purchasing the tickets to get their numbers up than anything else. Until the club changes their terms and conditions so that points are only accrued on the attendance of the match and not the purchase of the ticket as it is now, people will buy tickets and be no shows.
  4. Can't say I'm a huge fan of this one. Looks like they've squashed a football stadium inside the Birmingham Bullring. Much preferred the ground we were in, in America where everyone got top quality facilities and corporate got out of this world facilities. This probably has them but it's only really shown the ugly exterior and some seats. Balconies are pretty cool mind, wouldn't really work over here though.
  5. The penalty being ruled out annoyed me more.
  6. Yep I agree with what most have said, the big surfers for big games. The surfers do seem to draw people out of the pubs a little earlier when something big is mentioned which may be what encourages the atmosphere a little. Keep the rest of the flags for all the rest of the games. Not sure I agree with TheGuv about the big flags only being in the Strawberry though, I think it's been made to look spectacular when it's been all round the stadium. You'd hope the crowd are up for Sunday though without anything needed!
  7. Whilst I agree with this, it would be nice if someone could get a hold of me if they needed to. At the minute it's like being back in the 90s (Though that's not all bad :))
  8. Hasn't it already been shown that the Arena site is already taken for housing development and also isn't big enough for a new stadium either. Pretty sure it was on one of those Youtube videos about the expansion.
  9. Didn't Targett miss 2 weeks of football with that
  10. Under Ashley he'd have scored plenty. Long balls up, basic crosses into the box. Burnley football basically.
  11. It'll be good to have a cracking atmosphere next to the away fans again. When Ashley changed all those seats to family seats when he got a bit of abuse, the atmosphere wasn't great. It started to get better at the end of last season so hopefully with some new fans in there and not just families it'll be good again.
  12. That would include those bought on members sale though. It was a percentage of tickets that had to be made available each game. Don't know if the rule still exists.
  13. I'm in Leazes. I was assuming that but I'd seen an old map of the ground which suggested I was in cat 1 seats which was like £800
  14. Does anyone have details of the seating categories ? I'm curious how much my ticket will be next season as I'm in my final year in the cheap seats.
  15. I mean main roads. But yeah guess that proves the point that there is no issue doing it. Sorted then haha
  16. Speaking of crazy ideas. Is there anything to stop us making a tunnel for Barrack Road and moving the stand back that way so east stand can move further away from Leazes Terrace giving us the ability to go higher on that side. Think Amsterdam Arena already has roads going under it so nothing stopping there.

  18. Ahhh I've enjoyed reading through this thread, certainly many blasts from the past. Welcome back folks. Can't remember who asked on here but yes the website had a really long name which i then managed to get changed to toontastic.co.uk when some free domain name website appeared. After the merger though one group left to create a new ToonTastic site with a different web address than the original.
  19. Good to see this guy back in training. Hopefully back in the first team soon if we aren't getting any replacements any time soon.
  20. I find it odd that the news about Fonseca to Villa has appeared from nowhere. Definitely looks like the work of an agent. He is someone I'd like to see here though, definitely someone who I could see wanting to progress further than they have so far so would see the challenge of Newcastle.
  21. I like that. Could still bring in a bit of a park at the front as well. Making a feature of the walk up to the stadium with statues in it of the ex players and managers.
  22. Yes, they claimed it was because the players felt it was Shearer's song which was utter bollocks.
  23. Kinda is though. Newcastle only has a population of 260,000. Man Utd average 72,000 and they have a population of 500,000 plus. Granted its split between two clubs but it's still asking for a lot of people to come to the area and help fill the stadium.
  24. It's not played any more so I hope it's brought back. Along with the proper version on Blaydon Races.
