Did you wish him well when he chalked off Vidukas 'goal' v Fulham?
No, but I don't believe a mistake makes them terrible at their job- same with players and managers.
This ref has been one of the best of the tournament prior to this game- he did the opening game, England-Algeria and Holland-Argentina without any major incident.
Fair enough to the first point, I wouldn't want to see the player celebrate though. Seeing a player being glorified just for breaking the rules reflects badly on the game in my opinion.
I think it was disrespectful to Ghana to carry on like that. Yes, I know, outdated values and all that, but if I'd have handballed it (which I probably would) I'd have stayed out of it out of embarrassment.
The sight of Suarez being carried on his teammates shoulders at the end of the game is fucking awful by the way, will stick in my mind as one of the worst bits of any World Cup.
Who cares even if there is? It's not relevant at all to what's being discussed People were probably more concerned that two of our players had started fighting each other during a game.
Why are you such an arse tonight? There's actually some decent points being raised on both sides and you're going on like a kid because you don't agree.
That's the point surely..
But then there'd be no need for the rule?
It'd be a deterrant- I'm guessing people don't want them to do it!
Actually, re-reading, I have no idea what argument you're trying to mark ya dafty.
Now I think about, Suarez's gamble only paid off considering:
- It was the last minute of the game
- Ghana missed the penalty
- Ghana lost the penalty shoot out
Also, Uruguay didn't have Suarez for the penalty shoot-out and they are without him for a match. Can you legislate for a crazy situation like this?
