  1. Who would you pick instead of the two-time transfer requesting, ship jumping prick? Why is he 'ship jumping'? It's not like he's a Newcastle fan, he saw a better offer and left, as most players do. He probably had some decent offers during his time but decided to stay put. He was solid for us and never gave anything less than 100%; I don't understad why some football fans think that players with no connection to a club have some sort of loyalty to stay the?re. Would you commit yourself to your current employer for life? So he's a quitter. Again, who would you pick instead? Not at all, again, are you going to stay in the same job all of your life? Even if one came up allowing you greater satisfaction and more money? Given has no loyalty to Newcastle at all, it's a totally differnet situation to someone like Rooney. I wouldn't pick anyone instead, because I think the 'quitter' part of the title is ridiculous, and I think we've actually had excellent keepers throughout the time I've supported the club.

  3. Given has no place in there- he stayed with us for years while we were absolute dogshit. I don't blame him at all for leaving.
  4. Check the vid I posted mate, sums up the randomness of it at all.
  5. Someone's uploaded a Football League Show spoof- made me laugh anyway.
  6. All the decision makers at FIFA practically ignore everything Sepp Blatter says now, so I can't see this happening. There have been trials with scrapping offside traps in the past and they have been pretty awful.
  7. I used to ref the ones at Middlesbrough last summer, they used to get shedloads of money out of it. It was usually companies using it as a present to clients, these prices seem a bit more reasonable though.
  8. No it's not. I thought you were a qualified ref?! M4TT is right, on the line counts as part of the area. Hence why the ball being on the touchline is infield. Also all that matters is where the handball took place, not where his feet were.
  9. Most of Alan Carr's stand up is based around how much his dad hated him, so he seems to have decent judgement.
  10. Arsenal v Man U is going to be broadcast in 3D by Sky this weekend- quality.
  11. How many games have you watched this weekend Dave?
  12. Get your ears cleaned out mate. He said '2000, for Arsenal'
  13. Thames clarly not at the ground. 'And its...*player turns round so you can see his number*..Symes'
  14. Surely every sport is decided by refereeing decisions? Football, rugby, cricket, gymnastics..- I can't see what point you're trying to make there.
  15. Cheers mate. Reffing from the stands is a lot easier than from the pitch, but we do seem to have had a run of shockers in the past few games. We're never going to get perfection from referees, but we need to try and limit mistakes. I don't think the standard is any worse than it's ever been though, I think we just have more scrutiny and TV coverage, as well as players becoming better at cheating.
  16. Peter Brackley- he used to commentate on Football Italia as well (from a basement in London!)
  17. Pete Graves is a presenter on Sky Sports News now.
  18. PS If you're ever abroad and watching the international feed of PL games with English commentators, they're watching it in a studio and commentating over the same pictures you're seeing! Now that's a challenge!
  19. I used to do a bit of commentary when I worked in local radio and it's honestly 1000 times harder than it looks. Trying to idetntity the players and come out with decent sounding stuff is really challenging, especially when you have to talk continuously for 45 minutes. I think the best commentators are Martin Tyler, Jon Champion, Peter Drury (although he annoys me sometimes) and Guy Mowbray. Best co-commentators are Jim Beglin and Alan Smith IMO.
  20. It was a moved postponed game I think.
  21. Away goals only count after extra time in the second leg.
