  1. I’m amazed that we are not tying to sign this lad. I have watched him at QPR quite a lot and he is a real talent - right up Mike’s street with the future sell on value. The lack of ambition at this club Who was the last player we signed like that? Murphy? Decent reason to not sign players like that then, for mike anyway.

  3. £20m and other clubs interested. Next.

    Jeff Hendrick

So we know he stands around watching a lot.

    Jeff Hendrick

Hope we get Lansbury in too and he keeps his hair long.
  6. Sean and Penn are different posters. I’m now 90% sure penn is a wanker though (I mean Luke)
  7. I actually know Duffy from his time at Scunthorpe. I’ll see if there’s any truth in this.
  8. Ask them again when they've gone 51 years without a trophy of any recognition, 65 without a meaningful one, and 93 without a league title Ah right, you don't know what relative means. Of course I do. Fully appreciate that not winning everything is a come down, but complaint about not winning something for a season or two on here of all places won't get much sympathy He's not moaning about not winning anything, he's concerned they've wasted hundreds of millions of euros on the wrong players and that they're going backwards as a result. Welcome to us circa 2005...Owen, Luque etc. A better decision in 2004 and we probably wouldn't have had Ashley, Souness, Pardew, McLaren, Carver, 2 relegations, Bruce, and the cheapest transfer policy in the league You must have some sympathy then, fair enough. Only in the sense that you can see the bad decisions that they are making now could lead to a decline that may see them without a title for a few years. Their name and financial clout will see them avoid the terminal decline we saw with Newcastle, going from actual challengers (96), then potential challengers (03), then hangers on happy to be in the league (08 - present). Quite galling to see that at two points making a better choice could have seen us being sitting near the top on a far more regular basis It's all relative though, innit. Yeah, we should know our place. In the same way we should have sympathy for Man United given how big they are.
  9. Any club in the PL where Gayle is their best striker are in massive trouble.
  10. Gayle's just sitting out his final year isn't he? Not a chance he's leaving. Muto will probably go out on loan.
  11. Never saw the fuss over him. Basically a non-scoring striker who got by on reputation for being a Man U and Arsenal player I think his England form got him more plaudits than his club form. Weird player.
  12. Team spirit init. Battle, grit, determination.
  13. I don't think we can compete with the likes of Brighton. Not when our alledged budget is 30m including wages, the number of players needed, and teams around us are paying that for single players Plus we've probably already used 3 to 4 on Hendrick for signing on and wages Already on a sell to buy strategy anyway given the size of the squad. I reckon we can bump that budget up to £38m with a few outbounds.
  14. Sounds like there was a fight, it got broken up, he chinned a cop afterwards. All good.
  15. Don't worry, think it's quite likely we'll sell two of ours just before the windows slams shut.
  16. "No red flags" was Staveley's info given to Caulkin - not some fact. Yes and the questions re piracy were quoted by numerous journalists, yet the PL implied that this hadn’t even been looked at yet, and would only have been considered once who owned club was decided. You need to get over your absolute hated of Staveley makes you like a grade A cnut. There's definitely a middle ground here. Don't think either of you are there. Thanks for the arbitration but fuck off Such a romantic way with words you have.
  17. I think I've missed something that's making a number of people say this sort of thing. We've had a withdrawal statement from PIF and a statement from the PL stating that the test is not an ongoing process. Why do people think there's still a chance of the deal happening? Not a dig at you; as I say, a number of people are saying the same thing. This takeover is dead. Unless Staveley can find different backers (not gonna be a quick thing anyway) then Ashley's here long term.
  18. Wasn't he, like, a bit shit at Watford?

  20. To play with Gayle and Hendrick of course
  21. I'll be surprised if we make any permanent signings that cost an actual fee for the next 18 months Aye if we thought the last 13 years were bad. It’s gonna get a lot worse. Ahh what could have been Rio - "And who can blame him? Why would he buy a player for 5, 6, 7 million when they could get injured? He wants to sell the club, why would he spend his own money on it?"
  22. I get that. Didn't mean just about the takeover.
  23. Championship regular is the plan for next season mate, not this.
