  1. He's signing for the U23's like
  2. He won't get anywhere near the first team, don't worry.
  3. I wonder if we're finally going to see an attempt from Ashley to sell everyone and walk away with the profits? (I mean transparently for a change)
  4. Turned down Sunderland too. He was supposed to be key for Liverpool's U18's so wonder why they released him? Still, another deep lying midfielder through the door.
  5. Likelihood in order: 1. Ashley staying as owner 2. Me giving Maya Jama the night of her life 3. PIF buying the club 4. BNG actually being a true takeover attempt
  6. Very interested to hear from the Trust what the next step is - the meeting yesterday was never going to be the moment the takeover kicked in again, but we've learnt absolutely nothing new from it.
  7. "Proved last year that we're more than capable of staying in this league. Took a long time for the lads to get used to a more attacking approach but I think you'll see those improvement just from the stats. Delighted that we've tied down big Andy and Ritchie to new deals and also convinced young Matty that we're positively going to attempt to stay in this league. This is a solid set of lads, their spirit is the best I've seen in all my years of management. Would I like to add a couple of names? Of course, which manager wouldn't, but I won't be too worried going into this season with this great squad"
  8. Absolutely the wrong topic for this but a lot of people stopped going to force Mike to sell as he clearly wasn’t interested and was only trying to keep up above water. Now he’s very clearly desperate to sell, seeming as much as we are happy for him to leave. Does that change peoples stance on going to games? Or is the club just abandoned until it’s sold? I’ve stayed away since Rafa walked for those reasons. Despite everything feeling terrible does that perspective change for some people? I can't speak for others but I'll still not attend any games until he's gone. Granted, that's easy for me to say from the other end of the country where I pay hundreds for the privilege of attending one or two home games and closer away games a year. Think I saw someone in another thread mention the possibility of fans reasoning as you've said; 'well he clearly wants to sell now so he will when he can. lets go support the team in the meantime'. I don't want to be a part of anything that might warm him to keeping the club in the slightest. Keep the pressure on. Yea, I think I’m the same. Although I don’t know whether that’s because I’m sick of it or to make albeit small stand against Mike though. @9Shearergol[/member] To support an average team that probably needs the backing? Like I said before if staying away earlier was to force Mike to sell, now he’s trying to does that change anything? "Support da team not da regime" then Fuck that. What if he's trying to sell because the fans stay away? As soon as they come back he might decide to stick around?

  10. Whole season is a write off - haven't you been paying attention?

This isn't a dig but how old are you? Just wondering why now, after the past few years, is this the end for you? 43. I barely watched last year either tbf. Was more interested again under Rafa, and I suppose what I did watch last season was out of curiosity. Haven't been to a home game for nearly 6 years though.
  12. You may joke, but it does. I played a football tournament there a few years back, loads of fantastic pitches, really good gyms etc.

It's weird to think I'll never watch him play for us.
  14. I'm pretty glum at the moment. We've wasted money on useless players, and the bank is dry. Our squad is old, and besides De Jong there just isn't much to build for the future. Honestly, I just want to look at us and think we are well run. If we are well run we'll eventually float back to the top. I'm sure many will join you in a minute's silence as our hearts bleed for you
  15. Nope, constructive doesn’t mean positive, unless simply getting answers is positive (which I guess it kinda is).
  16. Not British enough for Brucey. Too expensive for Ashley.
  17. So around 7 between them you say?
  18. At least the club will be cash rich once he manages to settle it* *sniggers

He's a mixture of both but better than neither as individuals. Reckon they'll rotate the 3 of them (knowing Bruce he'll play all three and drop Almiron) That would make a pretty good player tbf, but I'll reserve judgement until I see for myself. He's no worse than what we have, but not the answer to changing a pretty shitty team. The problem is there's so much to fix.
  20. As NE27 says you've got some solid ideas that could definitely be put to good use in ordinary circumstances, but isn't today's meeting via Zoom? Suppose that could make it easier for the PL to palm off any challenging line of questioning? Only if you let them. I was fewming for weeks afterwards. But apparantly being crap at your job isnt unlawful. I reckon they might have access to the mute button though Yeah this was where I was coming from. Get a little out of line and I'm sure they'll mute or have 'technical troubles'. Which would make them 'Unreasonable' or 'Not interested in the concerns of NUFC fans' or any other number of things depending on the spin. The meeting isn't about the takeover though. It just has a 15 minute spot. It's perfect reasonable that they move on from it after the 15 minutes. The meeting is about the takeover as much as it is about the other individual agenda items - it is a regular meeting between the PL, FSA and representatives of the PL Trusts and the agenda is set based on topical current issues. As is our prerogative we asked for the takeover to be an item to be on the agenda (as others can ask for other items to be on the agenda) and it was accepted by the PL and FSA. It's one of the first agenda items, not an add on at the end. I understand that; what I mean is the PL have every right to keep to that 15 minute timeslot so that other agenda items get time too.
