  1. Will you admit to how good he is when he doesn't then?
  2. Not that it's a great indication of anything, but Hooper's pretty close to an England call up. He's much better than most of you are giving him credit for, but you'll soon see that. He's not a "poacher" at all, he's far more rounded as a player than that. Good signing for Norwich.

Yay, new signing. No need for a new striker now.
  4. Danny Graham's outscored Andy Carroll in the Premier League since he left us. Oh well. Carroll was playing for the champions. Hooper was playing for a team which finished 20th. Hooper played 39 games (20 goals), Carroll played 42 games (19 goals). At least make it a true comparison.
  5. I'd say £8 million is a fair valuation of his ability but not with his contract situation etc. He's worth 6-8M in my opinion and I'm basing this off the fact I've followed his career since we first were linked with him when he was at St. Etienne. 6M is probably the true value but due to our current striker situation, I'd be fine paying 2M over that to secure him now and get him going. That being said, If we could do a deal that involved 8M each for Gomis and Remy that would be fine business in my eyes to get 2 strikers for 16M. Do people honestly do that? Bit weird....

Maybe he doesn't want to leave and hoped it could be resolved. In what way? Either: a) Here's another £50k a week, now shut up and start scoring b) He's a blank shirt, choose your colour Neither were ever really going to happen.
  7. He also out-scored Andy Carroll in the Championship. Oh well.

No interest from Russia back then?
  9. Ahh, so you've hardly seen Gomis play, but laugh at a different suggestion. Go on then, let's hear your expert opinion of Hooper then. Assume you've seen him play a couple of times?
  10. Four years you've been banging that drum. Hooper's better than any of the striker's we've been linked with. I'm banging the drum because I'm right ;-)
  11. Not a chance in hell that Gomis is worth £8m, regardless of the years left of his contract! Gary Hooper, £4m. Easy.
  12. Looks like missing out on Gary Hooper for 9m in Jan was a blessing in disguise. Disagree. Hooper's the better fit for the premiership. We'll see it if Hull decide to up their bid.
  13. I think ditching all of the Liverpool players would have gone a lot further.
  14. Probably because Cole's more or less been England's most consistent/best player for the last decade. Yep. England's best defender for the last 6-8 years.
  15. It's also what he's worth to Man United though. It's hardly "forgotten" in transfers these days at all. That's how all transfers work.
  16. Buying a left back for £20m just goes to show that finances are ruining football.
  17. Like every club in the world would you mean?
  18. Borini and Allen at £26m would say otherwise. Not sure Sahin was that good a signing either. So basically, the signings of Sturridge and Coutinho have been solid. Not bad after spending £50m
  19. They did about as well as Chelsea did last year The champions league winning year, or the Uefa cup winning year? I'm massively confused about your comment tbh, although maybe I'm missing something? They did as well as Chelsea did in 2011-2012 when they finished below us. Their point totals are almost identical. They bought in a few good players and improved massively. I know people like to talk about the sheer amount of money Chelsea spent, but if you look at their first choice team only 2-3 players were different from the year before. Liverpool are in a transitional time and have a good base of talent. A few good purchases (they have the money) and they could easily challenge fourth. But Chelsea won the Champions League, and you know what playing in Europe does to teams
  20. Do you think a Rooney/Walcott partnership up front would work? Walcott has been much better centrally this season like. A Walcott/Welbeck partnership would work.
