I thought he said he was now fully committed to the club and looked to 'move the club forwards in 2009'. Didn't that supercede the 'no longer willing to subsidise NUFC' statement? ALL of our players have been average all season. Stick Rio Ferdinand in our defence and he'd look average. Yet Bassong looks class. He constantly has three players on him because he's the only player in our team that runs past people, in a team that functions better and spreads the ball a bit better I'm sure his crossing will be much better. Why do you feel the need to defend him so much rather than looking at the facts? Was his crossing appauling today or not?

Stick Owen, Martins, Barton and Taylor in this team and I think we'll be ok.
