Is Dennis Wise a disruptive influence? Or are the fans making him one?
Shearergol replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
Something that never seemed to happen, for whatever reason. Maybe their ideas of the 'the right price' where too far apart, or maybe Keegan forgot about this principle and wanted Ashley to spend big straight away. Or perhaps he just wanted a left back. He did publicly state a left back was his top priority at the start of the summer. He walked becasue he couldnt get a left back? As an example of a broader principle. We needed a left back and our director of recruitment failed to deliver, preferring to spend what little cash was available on Xisco. We also needed a striker. Especially now! -
This. The thing is I like Tevez, but Saviola is a better goal scorer and much more polished overall. Tevez is quality but sometimes has a tendency to slip into a bit of a captain caveman mode. Too much cowabunga and not enough guapa. You wumming here Kaka? Spouting things like this will only mean people stop reading your otherwise good posts.

We didn't need another striker? Are you mad? -
I like Gelson. Gets all over the pitch like you couldn't imagine breaking stuff up. In posession he distributes the ball well with short simple passes, nothing too overcomplicated. Very good player who is easy to overlook because he doesn't do anything too flash. That's like how Arsenal fans rate Taylor. Man City think Gelson is gash.

I see Hull signed an England international this week. It's not like every club in the league is doing it is it.

Shay Given signs for Manchester City for £5.9m plus add-ons
Shearergol replied to a topic in Football
Why would it bother you if Given went there and didn't play? -
Yes, we should be in for him, he's impressed me whenever I've seen him. He reminds me of Butt back in his pomp (the season before the 2002 WC and of course that World Cup). Man City fans think he's garbage. We were linked with him before Sven bought him, and I seem to remember him saying he'd prefer a move to a bigger club in the Premier League than us.

Er, no. Hull? In the North-East? Depends if you class Yorkshire as being North. Where else would you put it?

Eh? If you spend £10 before it comes in it means going £10 into debt. When you get the money back it means you have £0. What point are you trying to make? -
He's not worth that much. Man City are always going to have that problem though.

Santa Cruz will sign for Man City for £16m as soon as Blackburn have a replacement.

have you read the figures?? how can ashley take a dividend when he is financing the running of the club at the moment??? company directors take dividends out of loss making companies all the time. Havent you seen the news recently? yes public company where they don't use there own money at all to buy the club etc the figures show ashley is keeping the club alive with his own cash, so why would he take money out then He hasnt put any money in, hes lent the club £100m. He's not eating. That's just a pie in his mouth. -
Wow, Spurs have bought some shit Not that we're buying anyone like, but still.
