Needs a season in the championship like AC had. Ranger wouldn't cope in the championship. He'd go missing. At least Carroll was a battler. Carroll and Ameobi were both awful when they were on loan in the Championship. I know, but Carroll gained from it. It certainly toughened him up (learnt how to fight with centre backs anyway )
