  1. Gone from being called Gregg to Gergg and now Grag today. A far greater crime.
  2. More than happy to take stick for that post - but maintain a lot have been reading too much into it. Perhaps it was misjudged given how on edge a lot of people are about this takeover. Remain confident what I've been told - and what a lot of others have been told - that this deal will go ahead but not sure when. Nobody knows that for a fact until it is done. I've never claimed to be in the know whatever that actually means- and never will. But do get told a lot of things, a lot turns out to be bollocks.
  3. Greg[/member] is a legend so I'm not having a go..... but I really wonder what has gone wrong (if anything) since this day of supreme confidence It wasn't a day of supreme confidence in terms of anything imminent, just confidence that it will get done - the point was that what I'd heard (and I have no direct links to anyone involved in this and so it's all second / third hand so usual pinch of salt) was that there remains confidence on both sides that deal will go ahead but they don't know when. So make sure your fridge works to keep those cans chilled and ready for when the announcement comes out of the blue, whenever that may be. Nobody likes warm beer, or champagne in my case - I'm on a low carb diet. So no better than any 3rd rate journo or Steve wraith. Thought better of you. You're in a privileged position as a fan, you should know that implications of reporting back to us like that and refrained from it. At least we all know now not to listen to you. Is he the ginger haired kid who has been getting himself on the TV and radio? Another one at NUST who seems way more interested in building a profile for himself than report accurately what's going on or properly representing the fanbase. Building a profile? What a load of s****. Can you point to any of this so called profile building I do? Other than a couple of retweets of things I've said? I actively try to avoid the limelight or the profile building. I do a lot of the media for NUST as I am good at public speaking, nowt more. Have you listened to anything I've said in these appearances? We've done a hell of a lot of media sticking up for the fan base in the last 10 weeks. Utterly laughable this profile building crap. Aye - I give up 10+ hours of my week for free every single week to try and build an better and more influential NUFC supporter movement because I want a couple more followers on Twitter. Nothing to do with just simply wanting a better Newcastle United that works with its fans for the best of all and wanting us to finally build a meaningful voice as a fan base that has been so fractured over the last 15 years or so. Weapons-grade horse s***. Out of interest, given you are so quick to judge, what are you doing for the fan base?
  4. I don't think anyone is over reacting over it, just saying that it's a bit disappointing if he (because of the reasons you've just said) has decided to go down the route like so many others of inferring ITK knowledge. I haven't inferred anything beyond what I'm told - that there remains confidence on both sides the deal would be done. Would you prefer that I claimed these sources were 100% reliable? Because that's bollocks. No sources in this know exactly what is happening. There's been a lot of absolute bollocks posted about this takeover, particularity on twitter, completely made up. I trust what I've been told - confidence that the deal will go ahead just not when. But like I said, usual pinch of salt. In all of this you have to understand that nobody knows the actual outcome or when it will break - nobody is actually in the know of what the outcome will be. Not George Caulkin who has a direct line to AS, not Steve Wraith who, as much as you will all hate it - also has a direct line to the AS camp. They relate what they're told, but you have to remember those telling them information do not know the outcome of the process, although they of course are more informed on it than others. Those in the AS camp are also not stupid - they will say things to George and Steve and a few others knowing what they relay will be made public.

  6. A report piece not an opinion piece. He described the potential for Man United to be bought by SA as 'doomsday for football.'
  7. Who are you? Serious question Greg - why do you ask this? Not the first time I’ve seen you do this? Just curious as to who it is when newly registered posters talk about things that occurred before their registration date.
  8. And what you and others still fail to understand, is that abusing our own supporters even when you fundamentally disagree with what they are doing achieved nothing other than make you feel better. It entrenches their position and made them even more unlikely to see the bigger picture and change their ways. Greg, you know as well as I do that I left the whole campaigning side of things ages ago. There were times in the past when I and others took our frustration out on fans, realised it was counterproductive and attempted to do the whole kubaya thing, but it changed nothing and never would have. Rafa leaving/Bruce's arrival was the only thing that made the crowds finally dip and no amount of us being nice to fans we disagree with would change anything prior to that. Again though, I dunno why I keep having to make this point, but people hurling abuse, spitting at you, and starting on you aren't simply fans with a difference of opinion. It's not about being nice, it's about educating them but we never really got the chance to do that given a lot of those of us involved in effect gave up the fight, and then a load of new people tried the same old things we had done and surprise surprise nothing changed. I was there as you know - and those in that category you mentioned was a very small minority of the majority of others that just ignored it and kept on going (it probably felt like more at the time but the grant scheme of the 40 odd thousands it really wasn't many, as horrible as it was). Idiots are idiots and we have some in our fan base as does every club. To turn that around and tarnish all match going fans and abusing them on here and elsewhere does nothing though - it literally achieves nothing. It is giving up and just ranting to make yourself feel better. You are probably right that nothing meaningful would have ever changed, but if that is your view and you decided to give up that fight then let it be. But don't make yourself feel better by going around calling out other fans, it's antagonistic and utterly pointless and just drives further division.

  10. Bring back the days when ITK was a thing only for Spurs fans and that rather arrogant Martin Lol[/member]
  11. We are talking only players active until end of the 2006/07 season?
  12. My mate Stewart is one, I’ll text him... Is that Stifleaay[/member] ?
  13. Totally agree. The club is drifting along aimlessly with an owner who doesn't want to be there and there are issues that need addressing...fan ticket refunds being one of them. I think the people at nufctsust should be pressuring the PL to get this sorted asap, as it's definitely have a detrimental effect on the club and the fanbase. Where's Greg? I'm here. We are doing what we can on the season ticket issue - the club don't give a shit unfortunatley. On the takeover - I don't think there's any value in us doing anything with the PL - the O&D test is what it is and will be done when it is done - there's nothing we or anyone else can do to speed up or put pressure on that process.
  14. Masters was appointed in December and was already in post in as interim CEO. Think you have confused CEO with Chair.
  15. I honestly cannot fathom how this sort of work can take this long to get through. They must be working through a page of documentation a day. Its paper work, emails and phone calls. If they don't have the resources to give the time it needs due to 'project restart', they should have hired a private firm to work it. I'm in the wrong racket. I'd get less time than this to design, implement and deploy something that automated this whole thing.
  16. Please do not change the title until there's official confirmation. Nobody can read.
  17. 'there might be a few legal issues, depending on your view' What the f*** is that meant to mean? Surely your view doesnt matter when it comes to the legality of something, its either legal or it isn't. Unless I'm just reading that wrong. It's how the world works. If you don't like something and can afford it one way of trying to stop it is to employ the best lawyers around to go searching for other legitimate legal reasons to try and stop something. Yes I understand they can get people to search for any legal issues, but that's not a matter of your view is it? Your view could be 'that's illegal' but the law says 'no its not', and that's the end of it. Just saying that a persons view makes no odds to how legal something is, so don't understand why he said it. Well it does. Because the law isn't as straight forward as that. You often get top Queens Counsel arguing different interpretations of the law, for example.

  19. An interesting day. My advice to you all, is to make sure your fridge works.
