Christ the lad must be some age if he was playing in 92-93. Only been the Championship since 2004 tbh.

He's employed by the Premier League.

It’s not but you don’t have to bite back and bicker with childish insults. I was talking about a 24 hour mute - anyway it seems it’s thankfully done now.
-
Both as bad as each other looking at these last few posts. Give it a rest or you can have 24 hours on mute. Your choice.

Not really, it's a takedown of the BeIN claims that the WTO ruling means they should block the takeover.

I'm pretty sure he is wrong. Judicial review is only available of decisions made by public bodies. It is well established in case law that sports governing bodies are not judicially reviewable. See R -v- Football Association Ltd, ex parte Football League Ltd [1992] 2 All 833 And: https://www.ashurst.com/en/news-and-insights/legal-updates/judicial-review/ "The following characteristics have been considered relevant to whether an act or function can be reviewed. The "but for" test: in other words, whether, but for the existence of a non-statutory body, the functions exercised by such body would inevitably be regulated by statute. Bodies which have been considered amenable to judicial review using this test include the Advertising Standards Authority2 and the Takeover Panel3. However, the Football Association's decisions escaped review as the court held that if the Football Association did not exist, the state would not have found it necessary to perform its functions4." I may be wrong - but there's lot of reading out there on this - or may be thinking of a different judicial mechanism. Don't know who is right but if you are Greg, then could the PL just turn round and go - takeover denied because......well we can't be arsed with the hassle? Or we don't like NUFC as we love Sunderland....... and PIF wouldn't be able to legally challenge. Seems ridiculous if true He's now clarified after we exchanged a few DMs on Twitter

Never heard of him.

Gone from being called Gregg to Gergg and now Grag today. A far greater crime.

Think that's fair enough, and a good note to end this on

More than happy to take stick for that post - but maintain a lot have been reading too much into it. Perhaps it was misjudged given how on edge a lot of people are about this takeover. Remain confident what I've been told - and what a lot of others have been told - that this deal will go ahead but not sure when. Nobody knows that for a fact until it is done. I've never claimed to be in the know whatever that actually means- and never will. But do get told a lot of things, a lot turns out to be bollocks.

Greg[/member] is a legend so I'm not having a go..... but I really wonder what has gone wrong (if anything) since this day of supreme confidence It wasn't a day of supreme confidence in terms of anything imminent, just confidence that it will get done - the point was that what I'd heard (and I have no direct links to anyone involved in this and so it's all second / third hand so usual pinch of salt) was that there remains confidence on both sides that deal will go ahead but they don't know when. So make sure your fridge works to keep those cans chilled and ready for when the announcement comes out of the blue, whenever that may be. Nobody likes warm beer, or champagne in my case - I'm on a low carb diet. So no better than any 3rd rate journo or Steve wraith. Thought better of you. You're in a privileged position as a fan, you should know that implications of reporting back to us like that and refrained from it. At least we all know now not to listen to you. Is he the ginger haired kid who has been getting himself on the TV and radio? Another one at NUST who seems way more interested in building a profile for himself than report accurately what's going on or properly representing the fanbase. Building a profile? What a load of s****. Can you point to any of this so called profile building I do? Other than a couple of retweets of things I've said? I actively try to avoid the limelight or the profile building. I do a lot of the media for NUST as I am good at public speaking, nowt more. Have you listened to anything I've said in these appearances? We've done a hell of a lot of media sticking up for the fan base in the last 10 weeks. Utterly laughable this profile building crap. Aye - I give up 10+ hours of my week for free every single week to try and build an better and more influential NUFC supporter movement because I want a couple more followers on Twitter. Nothing to do with just simply wanting a better Newcastle United that works with its fans for the best of all and wanting us to finally build a meaningful voice as a fan base that has been so fractured over the last 15 years or so. Weapons-grade horse s***. Out of interest, given you are so quick to judge, what are you doing for the fan base?
