Play nice or you can all go mute for 24 hours.

Makes no difference. There isn't anyone else waiting in the wings. Unfortunately that didn't stop Ashley calling her a time waster 2 1/2 years ago though. Make no difference. Hadn't had a bid accepted and a deal done subject to Premier League approval then.

Makes no difference. There isn't anyone else waiting in the wings. No validity to the second bidder claims? They've come from fairly reliable sources, no? Just noise. A bloke from America that no one has ever heard of and his background suggests wouldn't be able to afford a Premier League football club.

They're massive Tories. Funded some of Johnson's previous election campaigns etc.

Hate to say it but after 13 years of Mike Ashley we are not that relevant any more (soon changing). That and they know Ashley has no moral compass in these regards and simply does not care.

Didn't Kinnear try to sign Hyppia? I thought KK but you might be right. Keegan initially and has told how he was messed around and lied to by the club. Kinnear claimed he then tried and failed to sign him in a later window.

I spot 3 NO posters in that photo..... Need your eyes tested. At least 4.

This provides good read about the characteristics of the area: https://newcastle.gov.uk/sites/default/files/planning/Leazes%20Character%20Statement.pdf

Correct. As I have said many times on this forum.
-
Would you not need to re-route the road to get access to the RVI ? Is possible via Leazes Park Road or St. Thomas' St but would be unpopular with some.
-
Not this one. It has logistical issues around access for Ambulances etc. but there are ways around it. Took years to get them to agree to temporary closures on match days.

How? Explain to me how a Level 7 tier....with the exact same capacity as the opposing Leazes End Level 7 tier...could be added to the Gallowgate Stand when there are office blocks 60 feet away. Even if they could come up with some wizardry that created a floating/hanging tier of that size it would still block out the light for that office block and would thus be objected to by the owner of said office block. In planning terms, impacts on light to offices don't carry the same weight as impacts on residential properties. From my rough measurements on google maps the Gallowgate would only have to be extended about 10m to match the Leazes, a cantilevered design could probably be accommodated without impacting on Strawberry Place. Correct. The Gallowgate End is already bigger than the Leazes pre extension and we would actually need to remove a fair few rows at the back of the current Gallowgate provide the space for Level 4 and 5 executive levels to be aligned with the Leazes and Milburn. There is a lot of space above Shearer's bar and the club shop to be used for the underbelly / internal of an extension. The extension also doesn't need to include the vast amount of car parking space etc. incorporated in to the Leazes End. A good architect would be able to design an extensions that wouldn't be far off from the existing curtilage of the site, but it would be useful if we could develop a solution that makes use of some of Strawberry Place its self and that fundamentally that road is pedestrianised. This would be incredibly difficult to agree with NCC but not impossible.

Pleased to see these are still going - hopefully will join another at some point - been a bit busy. Love the results videos!

Why? It's inherently cuntish. They would be c***s for doing it. You have a nerve like, weren't most of your previous posts calling our fans worse than s***? Only in your opinion ... I called fans morons for doing something only morons would do ... keep buying season tickets under Ashley and accelerating the destruction of their own club . Somebody sticking a f***ing tea towel on their head is neither here nor there as regards the club or Saudi Arabia and if you can't see that then you need help ( imo : ) This is a pretty absurd view. Still going to the match under Ashley - a moron. Glorifying Saudi Arabia - fine. Thats my point , sticking a tea towel on yr head isnt glorifying Saudi Arabia and to claim it is says more about how out of whack your brain is than anything else It is though? Of course it is? What else is it other than glorifying our new owners based on where they are from and how they dress?

Great post I think it will help a lot of people with their thoughts and decisions Question for you Greg, "I'll judge Newcastle United on what Newcastle United does." and "We support the football club not the owners" Can you see a set of circumstances where it would be impossible to separate the owners from the football club and you would have to stop supporting the football club because of the owners? It's possible. But I don't know what that threshold is at this point in time.

It says they are uneducated and do not understand the issues at hand. I think a lot of our fans will fall into that category. To be fair, I don't think it's just our fans that fall into that category. There's a large percentage of the UK population that are as thick as pig s***. Absolutely. Not unique here.

Pretty much everyone is a hypocrite in how they go about aspects of their life. It's nothing new - and will be the case here for many. It will be for me for sure. I'll be overjoyed at the end Mike Ashley's disastrous tenure, I'll be excited about us becoming a proper football club again, one that will attempt to be the best it can be. I'll be at St. James' Park, I'll celebrate when we win. I'm going to enjoy the football again. I'll judge Newcastle United on what Newcastle United does. But I won't glorify Saudi Arabia, I won't be holding up a Saudi flag or dressing like a daft c*** with a tea towel on my head. I won't personally promote Saudi Arabia. I know why they are investing in our club. It's a little uneasy, but we don't chose our owners. We didn't chose Mike Ashley. We don't have a say really. We're certainly not a fan base that can unite in any way against anything - hell if we can't unite against how Ashley has ran the club god help us. No one tells Newcastle fans what to do when it comes to going to the match do they. I'll be uneasy about it. I'll have underlying concerns about Saudi Arabia and their human rights record but it will not dominate my mind and I will do very little about it (as is now). Supporting Newcastle United will not be a political alliance with Saudi Arabia. We support the football club not the owners. I'll be a hypocrite. But that's normal. It's normal in every day life in many situations. Very very few people live a perfect absolutely life given the way the global economy works. But I'll support my team with my eyes wide open. The worst thing about this so far has been the glorification of Saudi Arabia, the whitewashing of any concerns around their track record as a country. The abuse of Hatice Cengiz, and of Amnesty International and other human rights NGOs. It really isn't a good luck. It's f***ing embarrassing in fact. This is strange, and everyone should make their own decision. That's mine, made with my eyes wide open. I'm a hypocrite. I'm comfortable with that.

Nah, with Ashley Towers in place there is no way that Level 7 can be extended into a horseshoe like the image below. There simply would be no room to do it. And if your talking about some half-arsed expansion to gain a few thousand extra seats that would be pointless. And it still would do nothing for the overall look of the stadium as the Gallowgate would have a completely different roof to the other 3 sides of the ground. That entire land behind the Gallowgate is needed to complete the level 7 stand, and allow for a fan-zone and/or new club shop etc. http://i.imgur.com/mbxzmu3.jpg?1 http://i.imgur.com/ljiKPBh.jpg You are wrong. Preferable to make use of that land but but not a necessity to extend the Gallowgate.

I spoke to Forbes, long piece here. "The uneasy alliance between football fans and billionaires looks set to continue at Newcastle. Tomlinson warns, “We didn't choose Mike Ashley and we don't choose these owners now. As football fans we support the club, not the owners. It's really complex. People will find this difficult.”" https://www.forbes.com/sites/daviddawkins/2020/04/21/the-end-of-the-mike-ashley-era-newcastle-united-fans-reflect-on-a-broken-relationship/#48a2bf5847ed Seemingly, not most of our Twitter following. Some of the Twitter abuse directed towards the likes of Hatice Cengiz and the glorification of things people know little about or don't understand has been staggering.
-
Don't believe everything you read in the papers. It will still be possible to extend the Gallowgate if this goes ahead- it will be more complex and more expensive but still possible. There are other big issues at play here as well in terms of metro tunnels and Strawberry Place itself. The transfer of the leasehold also hasn't happened yet - due to happen very soon but not there yet.
