Our travelling support in fine voice, kind of wished I hadn't sold my ticket on now but I guess these exams are important.

We never beat them though do we. One defeat in the last 5 at Ewood but only 2 league wins there in the Premiership era.

Maybe not world class but Michael Carrick isn't a bad player, regular for the best team in Europe but there certainly isn't many.
-
Although I think he's been injured as well.

Bloomin' 'eck, didn't realise he was so close to coming back. Good news, I just hope (again) Guthrie stays in. Doubt it though. He only started full training again today by the sounds of things so I doubt he'll feature but then again we are desperate but the last thing we want is for him to come on and get injured and be out for even longer.

Daily Mail think Barton could make the bench.

Yes he's decent but the aussie kid in midfield brad Inman looks a better player, he's impressed me the few times i've seen him, more of a playmaker whereas McCrudden is a goal scorer. In terms of midfielders Inman is the one that the club are the most excited about and have very high hopes for.

Poached from the Mackems in the summer.

79min - QPR GOAL (1-3): ANDREW PERRING turns home from close range after Terry Smith had squared for the midfielder from the right.
-
74min - NEWCASTLE GOAL (0-3): MICHAEL McCRUDDEN races onto a long clearance downfield before stabbing past Bulmer from 10 yards to all but seal the tie for United.
-
58min - NEWCASTLE GOAL (0-2): James Tavernier's diagonal free-kick finds its way to JAMES TAYLOR on the angle of the six-yard area and the centre-back controls before lashing into the roof of the net - great finish.
-
Half-time: United continue to lead 1-0 with QPR keeper Niki-Lee Bulmer enjoying an inspired evening, Ranger, Tavernier and McCrudden all thwarted by the young stopper.
-
If we get through we've got a bloody tough game against Man City.
