  1. Wenger and Ferguson have never lost after being ahead in a match? Amazing stat if so. I couldn't ever see Wenger throwing away, say, a champions league final once his team were in front. It just wouldn't happen, he's not so tactically naive as to ever let his players concede a goal. He'd also never let a fierce local rival score two goals in the last couple of minutes to come back from being 2-4 down. At least not at home...
  2. He isn't transfer listed, he is only considered as one of a couple of players Bayern might sell to reduce their squad size.

    Martins

Brilliant journalism as ever. Magath isn't the manager any more, but has taken over at Schalke + Wolfsburg are said to want offer only 7m Euro, not pound (though the difference isn't that much anymore). Martins would only be a backup player with them having already Grafite (28 League goals in 25 matches) and Dzeko (26 goals in 32 league games) ,unless latter is sold to Milan or another top club which doesn't look likely at the moment.
  4. When Pearce played his so-called B side they played germany off the park. The man is clueless. Tbf, our performance was just awful last week and didn't reflect the real ability. Though two major European teams going into a final without a prolific striker shows that this type of player isn't as common as most club fans would like it to be. Anyway... Scott Loach? http://www.izzm.de/public/Ha%20ha%202.jpg
  5. That's a German website were the transfer value is set by fans. It's everything but reliable...

    RIP sale thread.

Why? He's not exactly loaded (relatively speaking). I feel it in da bones Dave. In a weird way fatty loves the club. I like this.

    RIP sale thread.

Technical term relating to due diligence though...
  8. Firstly, its not a fact, and secondly, we could do a lot worse than keeping a seasoned pro next year for our promotion push (just hopefully he wont be a starter). His wages should reflect this then - which I think they wouldn't...

    Mark Viduka

Which is accoding to the VMI (the Vidkuka mass index) quite a whale. Shame no else player could have this kind of touch and ability to get the best out of his team mates. Too little, too late...
  10. Some people here are really funny. And it's not even April 1st anymore...
  11. Why is it always a contest? This is the Martins thread and he was s*** today. So was Owen, happy? It seems like a contest because when the manager decides to make a sub, it's always Martins who comes off and many are wondering why it isn't someone who's out of form, putting in zero effort and shirks challenges like Owen? Martins wasn't good today but he's the best we've got, like it or not. What an absolute load of drivel.
  12. The exculpation of Martins for all his mistakes is becoming ridiculous tbh.
  13. Pisses all over the myth that Keegan had become too 'out-of-touch' - ie. no longer a holder of the mechanics of being able to spot promising players, he no longer had the contacts in the player agent merry go round etc - thanks his lengthy hiatus from professional football. A myth that was peddled here. Apologies but how does it "Piss on the myth." You think he was watching Ligue 1 closely in be tween training and trying to keep us up? Bear in mind Ligue 1 is not a prominent league here and he won't have just discovered him sitting at home. You must also take into consideration that Bassong was at Metz a team that was relegated, so an even bigger find. Accept that the scouting team found him, knew he was good enough the "Trial" confirmed it and he was signed. F***ing liar, this Bassong bloke. He can't accept the truth, eh.
  14. I think a lot of the criticism they get is unfair. They are more important and doing a better job than some people like to admit. In the end they adress and raise a vast number of issues that is shared by the majority of fans - you only have to look at the outcome of polls on here regarding the trust and faith into the ownership and handling of club affairs. So even while a lot of people understandably are not comfortably with the NUSC itself some of their concerns are getting represented. They certainly didn't have the best start and adressed a lot of issues in a wrong way. Though, that's something that isn't unusual for an ad-hoc pressure group. Especially their unproffesional public appearance and statements. But that's more excusable than what is coming from the club and its well paid professional personnel where the chairman admits wanting to hit a manager and a later manager abuses the press - actual FACTS. A club also running a hopeless (or should it be hopeful?) cringeworthy website and handling press affairs in general worse than a third world dictatorship.
  15. nemeth Spammers sign some guy I've never heard of. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/w/west_ham_utd/7851056.stm Sounds like a very good player from what the BBC write-up says. If we are serious about up and coming players then that's the kind of person we should of been looking at. Clearly a talented player, best of a good bunch of his age for the German youth team, but the money they have to pay for him is ridiculous tbh. Aye, seems a very big fee for a Serie B player. And, even though he is only 19, 3 goals in 17 games, at that level, doesn't look great... I'm prepared to be proven wrong though... He's a winger though, how much would we give for Jonas or any other player having three goals and four assists to his name... In Serie B? Not a lot I shouldn't think. From a 19 year old in 17 games in this position? Honestly expectations from some people are quite absurd.

  18. Oh, I'll give him a chance. I very much hope he proves me totally wrong. Still, I can't see that he will make the necessary impact. Especially as he is foremost not a player in a position where we need strengthening more. He has a bit of pace that might other player be lacking, but that's about it. He'll most likely need this pace though to chase all those balls going astray because of the poor quality of the passing of most of his team mates, especially from central midfield...
  19. how did he do at shalke? why did he leave? etc...? Ok first season, then some niggling injuries, crap afterwards and well down the pecking order so Schalke wanted him off the wage bill. Hopefully German football just didn't suit him, but if he plays like he did at the end he'll be nothing more than a poor backup for Duff (sic!).

"Starring" for Leverkusen? Not even 20 appearences in two seasons. Nevermind the medal/starring bollocks. Just how pap is he Ise? I can't remember too much apart from him being nothing more than a backup player for Dortmund and Leverkusen,

  22. Silly money, Hamburg are now linked with Mbia.
  23. Ah, after being pleasantly surprised about the outcome of the Woodgate sale and about how positive the Milner deal looked a couple of days later because of what was done with the money recouped, I can't help looking forward to these kind of transfer dealings and promises...
