  1. can whoever has this banner f*** off please? Mike Ashley and co's incompetencies or otherwise have absolutely nothing to do where he is from. I go every week and its offensive considering i have family from London. Its something you might expect to see from some of those braindead charvers on sky sports news. Thinking that they represent fans could not be further from the truth, carrying that banner round represents ignorance stupidity and nothing else.

I hope we aren`t planning or hoping to sign anyone born in London or a player married to a Londoner or good friends with Londoners, we have enough to put off a potential signing as it is without adding to it. Being a southerner myself I do find it a bit a thick but I view it in the same condescending way I view the hatred that Scotland has for England. Its a one way thing I or my friends don`t have an opinion on "Northerners" one way or the other, everyone are just people, you either like them or not, Culture, accent, stereotyping means nothing to me.  To be honest I have never actually understood the link between the Banner and Ashley and Co , I havn`t asked because I thought it was a northern thing.

    The irony....

And yes 2J the alarm was a ringing.... :coolsmiley:

  2. sibbers never should have been let go. good squad player. a fit dyer or emre would have been good but never likely to happen. probably faye for me always looked solid at dm. and would have played most games this season.

He only ever looked decent in Europe when we were playing a slower game, in the premiership he was pretty poor...

  3. Diego Maradona claims his 'Hand of God' goal against England will guarantee him a hero's welcome at Hampden next month.

The Argentina legend, who yesterday announced he will make his debut as his country's head coach against Scotland on November 19, was the villain of England's 1986 World Cup quarter-final defeat.

But he believes his handball goal in that game has made him an idol north of the border.

'I'm going to a country where they adore me because of the goal against the English,' Maradona said.

'The English and the Scots get on horribly - serious bad blood.

'But now we are going to play a game against Scotland, where they are going to treat us well.'

Maradona promised to field as strong a line-up as possible at Hampden but revealed he would not try to force Barcelona star Lionel Messi to play the game.

Barcelona reportedly have an agreement with the Argentinian Football Association which allows them to refuse to release the player for friendlies.

Maradona, who celebrated his 48th birthday yesterday, said: 'We're going to arm a good team with the best we have.

'We're not going to step on anybody. Barcelona's president was a gentleman letting Messi play in the Olympics.

'Now it's good that Messi wants to play all the games for Argentina.

'That has to put him in your hearts.'

Meanwhile, Gordon Smith plans to bring Brazil to Scotland if the Tartan Army fill Hampden for the visit of Argentina.

Scottish Football Association chief executive Smith helped secure the November 19 glamour friendly against Argentina.

There has been a surge of interest in the game since Maradona revealed he is taking over as his country's head coach.

But Smith believes playing a home match against five-times world champions Brazil for the first time since 1987 would be an even more mouth-watering prospect.

Smith said in the Daily Express: "This Argentina game gives us a chance to test the water and see if there's an appetite for such fixtures.

'If the fans respond positively by turning out in large numbers to see Argentina - then my next step is to pull out the stops to try and get Brazil to Hampden.

'Argentina is a famous name in football and now with Maradona coming is as coach there is extra spice to the fixture. But Brazil is the number one country in world football because of what they have given the game.

'Scotland have had memorable matches against them in the past and to have them come to Hampden would be special.

'If the Scotland fans are willing to back the idea then I'll do all that I can to bring Brazil to Glasgow.

'I'll have a better indication of how the public feel once we see the overall response to the Argentina match.'

  4. Ronadlo got s*** at every ground because he fkd us over on an International scale.

    Bollocks man...

How is it bollocks? he did, he got Rooney sent off and rightly got s*** at every ground in the Country well apart from Old Trafford. But no fker tried to get onto the pitch to get to him.

    aye, shut up scotsman

    Aye thats a great comeback...

  5.

    Yup.

Our budget was much lower than £20 million. ;)

Only because we robbed Villa when we took £12 million off them for Milner and we robbed Mallorca when we took Jonas for nothing, add to that the money we have stolen off West Ham for Dyer.  How much is that worth and how long is it since we've had 3 such deals in our favour.  If we'd kept Milner and paid the asking price for Jonas we'd have had a net spend of something like £25 million and most people would have been happy that we'd spent that much.  If we'd kept Dyer in the previous summer window we'd have had a net spend them of £17 million, going off the figure of £9 million mentioned by Allardyce.

    Thats a lot of ifs...

  6. Apologies if this has already been posted.

News that will not go down well with those who have booked tickets, time off work, hotels etc

    http://www.wba.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/0...1405137,00.html

Moved from Wed Oct 29th to Tuesday Oct 28th for coverage on Sky.

I see nufc.co.uk have changed the date on the website but not "announced" the fixture change and this is also probably why nufc.com have not updated the fixture yet...

I am sure this will shaft a fair few supporters...

  7. Indeed, I can only hope Ashley sells as soon as possible so we can get a new man in. No manager in their right mind would come to us now when the owner wants out.

I honestly don't think he'll hang around. If he feels as strongly about it as the statement makes out, he'll be desperately trying to flog the club before the next home game.

I hope he cares enough about the club to sell it to the right people.

He is a business man, he will be looking to sell to whoever gives him the best offer...

  8. Is this the Swedish football league that is on a par with La Liga or the Premier League? I'm sure Larsson would still score a few for a Championship team.

Surely that would make him a better option than Shola then as he couldn't in a promotion winning side....

  9. Helsingborgs have reacted swiftly to calm their fans' fears that Henrik Larsson will be sold before the deadline to raise funds.

The Sweden legend hinted he could be sacrificed before the start of next week, instantly sparking speculation that he could emerge as a target for British clubs, including former side Celtic.

However, spokesperson Sten-Inge Fredin insists the veteran attacker will stay put.

"He means so much for the club and for the supporters," Fredin told TT.

"His contract is until 10 January and we let his agent know a couple of days ago that we are not thinking of selling him.

"Our hope is that Larsson will continue at Helsingborg even next year.

"But right now, I don't think even he knows what will happen and so we must be calm and talk about the situation."
