  1. Spurs linked with a £9m bid for Allan McGregor from Rangers according to the Express.

I notice MJ's kept that one quiet.

It appears to be a rehashed story from a few months ago...

I remember reading the original story which tried to say we were looking at him too.

  2. I'm not going to go and look around for articles.  One was posted at a similar time to when you made your original post.  If it was after then as I said you probably just heard the same rumour, doesn't mean you should run with it.  Or post made up lists to mislead people.

Erm, so what's the issue. Baggio "came up with" something which has now hit the press. What's he done wrong?

No idea how I missed that newspaper.

No idea how I done the wrong quote lol

  4. Average? He's by far our most gifted midfielder, he can create for a f***ing start, isn't currently on Cell block H, 34 or pissing off to the African Cup Of Nations every 2 year. Give the lad a run for god sake, he has high energy can dribble and can pass. And it now looks like were gonna make a loss.

I was as pissed as anyonehe was fit for Turkey, but even when hes been fit this year he's been on bench duty now and again. Behind f***ing "Can't beat the first man" Geremi.

Players in representing their national team shocker!!  :kasper:

  5. So it's all transpired now that this isn't actually "official" then? That Nathan chap said his was a fansite, not the real deal.

Could still go a bit Pete Tong.

    SkySports.com reckon:

"A statement on the Turkish club's official website said: "Fenerbahce reached an agreement with Newcastle United in order to sign the Turkish superstar Emre Belozoglu.""

  6. Spurs have won the race to sign Richard Dunne.

Manchester City's defender has chosen to link up with this season's Carling Cup winners ahead of similar overtures from Aston Villa and Sunderland.

Dunne, who has just one year left on his contract, was reportedly upset with the club's treatment of Sven Goran Eriksson and has decided to leave.

Juande Ramos has beaten off stiff competition ahead of Martin O'Neill who was looking for a replacement for Juventus-bound Olof Mellberg and the player's former Republic of Ireland colleague Roy Keane. Newcastle, Middlesbrough and West Ham were also keen.

Dunne has become one of the most consistent performers in the Premier League after former Manchester City boss Kevin Keegan suggested he was in danger of wasting his opportunity as he struggled with his weight.

However, he has been voted the player of the season for four successive years at Eastlands and his exit will be a significant blow for Eriksson - or his successor.

Ramos on the other hand, has doubts over Ledley King's long-term fitness and is unsure whether Michael Dawson is a viable partner for Jonathan Woodgate at the heart of the Spaniard's defence.

Richard Dunne is the first big name to head for the Manchester City exit door with the defender on the brink of completing a £5million move to Tottenham.

Spurs have beaten off competition from Aston Villa and Portsmouth to land the City skipper.

Dunne, 28, has already held advanced talks with Tottenham officials and will move to White Hart Lane once he has passed a medical.

Tottenham boss Juande Ramos has ear-marked the Republic of Ireland star to add steel to his back-line and form a partnership with Jonathan Woodgate.

  7. Just going on what I've been told, a Rangers fan I know got told a few players were leaving Rangers (Boyd was one, McGregor another) More importantly, a Ranger's player told him Cuellar was leaving, he spoke to the players after the cup final on saturday.

There's a lot of bollocks talked by Rangers and Celtic fans (never Newcastle fans like  :undecided:) but a Rangers fan told me the (now cancelled) friendly was part of the Cuellar deal.

I'm still undecided about him, he plays in a 9 man defence so he's bound to look not bad, but he looked dodgy on Saturday.

Thats few times people have said that however I doubt it as usually its the selling clubs ground that the friendly is played at to generate more funds for that club as an extra incentive to sell.

  8. It's nonsense whichever way you look at it (especially as he rates David Weir)

Apart from Woodgate, Weir for Everton was a better player than anyone we had at centre half.

  9. The Valencia game should be decent, though I won't be going to the Rangers game if the fans are anything like the Celtic game last pre-season.

    I hate the Scots, savages.

Somewhere in a basement up North, Scottish Mag's patriot alarm has just started buzzing frantically.

    :knuppel2:

    Get him sorted man.

Aye get me sorted like you did the Greater Manchester Police.  :laugh2:

Did I?  Don't think I have ever been in Manchester tbh...;)

  10. I'm from a Catholic family who all seem to prefer Celtic (I do as well, most of the time), but I still want Rangers to win.

Their travelling support is a marvel and they seemed far less arsey than the Celtic fans when they came down here for that friendly a few years back.

That's the main reason I dno't like Celtic. I.e. the way their away fans have gone on when I've seen them in the Toon.

Rangers fans are/have the potential to be just as bad.

But I haven't encountered them acting like total cockends in Newcastle. Plus Celtic fans f****** hate the English, the Union, the idea of Britain etc. with a passion, which I find very sad and tedious.

I didn't have you down as one of those on here that uses generalisations Alex ;)

  11. Hmmm it is a bit of a worry if we're poaching the SPL again after our recent buys there. Weren't the last two Boumsong and Moore?

Going by that logic we should stay clear of Premiership players also seeing as our most recent purchases Smith, Viduka and Barton have done fuck all...

  12. I thought all the Scots-rave was for Scott Brown these days ???

Seriously deluded fans bigging up anything they've got in their league when really these players are average prem players at their very best.

    £9m Craig Gordon (really £3-4m)

    £7.5m Barry Ferguson (really £2m)

    £8m J.A Boumsong (really £3m)

    £8m Alan Hutton (really £4-5m)

Now £12m McGeady & at the start of the season £12m Brown.

Do Celtic need £12m? Is that what is going on?

These two are worth £4-5m each, if that. Average prem players which Scotland are trying to flog to us in a desperate attempt to rip the English off as they need coin as they are all poor.

It has nothing to do with ripping off the English as you put it, transfer fees are ridiculous everywhere and no more so then in England when you see the like of Nugent and Chopra going for 6 million each, Cahill for 5 and Bent for 16....
